Wouldn't surprise me one bit of we randomly go out and beat these somehow. Such a Leicester thing to do. But we have to go out and play attacking and positive. Sit back against these and we will be destroyed.

Exactly. I’d much rather go down 3-4 than lose 0-1.

Our defence is clearly more robust than of late so let’s get at them from the off and try and keep the momentum up. And no negative defensive substitutions second half that just to invite them to play in our half where the damage will be done.

It's much better to watch your team play attacking football rather than trying to nullify the opposition threat and bore them into submission.  One of the most enjoyable games (bar the result) in our league winning season was the Arsenal 2-5 which was just non-stop attacking from both sides.  My only concern with this game is if we try to match up in attack and let in a bunch of stupid goals from misplaced back-passes then we reopen all the wounds from the start of the season and the team loses the confidence its beginning to build.

Man city will have a plan for us and if that plan pans out we lose... By a LOT.

It wont pan out, "no battle plan survives first contact" or as Iron Mike said "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face"

This is gonna be a sit back and enjoy the ride match.

A shout your lungs inside out for us match.

And this season has thrown up some odd results too, so who knows?

Pep wont fancy Vardy or Maddison, we WILL score so- let's get positive people!

They won't.

Won't lose the confidence, I mean. Not won't let in a bunch of stupid goals. That's highly likely!

But they'll know as well as we do that getting stuffed by Man City doesn't really count. On their day Man City can put a hatful past any team in the world. You just shrug it off.

Absolutely. I won't hold it against the manager or the players if we get pumped here TBH.

The rest of the season won't be defined by whether or not we can pick up points against Manchester City.

Getting anything from this would be a massive boost, though.

Can you imagine winning this? I doubt we will but weirdly I can see it happening.

Mahrez in tears please at 2.20pm on Saturday.

Walks off down the tunnel from the bench like Ronaldo lol

A lot will rest on the system and Pep's team selection. If he carries on with the 4 3 3 and Maddison RW and Pep goes strong then it'll be game over by 30 mins. If we see a change in system and Pep rests Haaland and KDB then we could feasibly keep it respectable in the first half. Even moving Praet to the right and having Madders behind the striker with Tielemans and KDH/Bouba behind will offer more balance and protection.

Their movement and finishing is absolute light years ahead of what we've been playing recently. If we go into this game with false sense of security and gift similar freedom to their players in our half it'll be brutal.

Rodgers will never have my support as he has too many flaws and is an atrocious leader when the chips are down. But I hope he can find a way to pick up 4 or more points from the next 3 games as they'll be badly needed. The long break is something he'll 100% be using as an excuse come Jan so we need something from these next 3 while the mood is artificially enhanced.

Neither will I.  If we get smashed, that's OK as long as we go down fighting and have some positives we can hold onto.  I'm not expecting anything here but if it's going to be a defeat, it's the manner of the defeat that matters.  We've seen how brittle the players' confidence can be and I am less certain than you that they won't be affected.  I don't want to see us playing a game that doesn't suit us and plays to all of their strengths.

I'm hoping for a sh!thouse 1-0 with Vardy scoring right at the death but it's the hope that kills you.

Me too.

Although I fear it's more a choice between losing 5-0 or 9-1...!

Then again, who knows? Guardiola will almost certainly rest Haaland, coz he'll know he ain't gonna get a sniff with Amartey around...

Note to myself. I must check the betting odds on haaland scoring.

I don't see Pep resting any players against us. They just need a draw against Dortmund to seal the 1st place in their group and they can't afford another loss or draw in the PL.

I'll triple captain Haarland the day before, just to make sure he either: a) doesn't play, or b) scores a hat-trick :P

If we beat man city and nobble Brienne of Tarth in the process, i'm having a tenner on that 5000-1! Gotta be a chant in there somewhere.

Doing the Remembrance day stuff for this, full display etc. more than two weeks ahead of Remembrance Day, is not a good look imo. It makes us look like we're trying too hard and no doubt we'll get stick for it in the media.

We don’t have another Home game after this one

Amartey has had some half decent games against this lot if I remember rightly, I really hope he doesn't bring Evans straight back in. I know keeping a clean sheet vs Man City is nigh on impossible but I see no reason to change the defence right now.

I don't think it's more robust, merely that the opposition are given about 20+ free shots but couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo!
