I doubt it too but I looked back 50 pages and saw no dedicated european qualification thread for this season.....

Assuming Chelsea and Liverpool pick up and casually writing off Brighton and Fulham......

Newcastle and Man U would be our targets.

A double over Newcastle and we are just 6 points behind them.

Mathamatically any team below 10th, even Forest, could do it.

Realistically,

Could we turn it around become the best of the rest?

Just how good are Newcastle and Man U?

Playing well and beating Everton today would give me some hope

I think our best chance of European qualification is the League Cup this year. With the World Cup being where it is, and the resulting fixture congestion, I think the "bigger" clubs will be playing their reserves until at least the semifinals.

If we manage two back to back wins against Everton and West Ham, yes top 7 might be a realistic target if we also do some decent transfer job in January. Too many ifs though and let's see how this pans out after the final whistle tonight because I don't have a good feeling about today's game...

Never happening.  This season is all about staying up.  Top half from here would still be a mammoth acheicement considering our start,

I'd still take 17th right now if offered, no question.

Top seven is not in our ballpark of expectations for this season or certainly shouldn't be, it's a fight against relegation and frankly I'll be happy with finishing 15th this season.
