Would like to see a couple of youngsters in the team but with them playing Valencia the day after I don't think we will

 

Keep some of the first teamers in but would still like to see at least a bit of rotation

 

                   Iversen

 

Castagne, Faes, Evans, Thomas

 

        Praet, Ndidi, Soumare

 

     Iheanacho, Daka, Barnes

 

Give Evans and Ndidi 45-60 minutes and then bring Amartey and Mendy on

My Aunt Brendan Nin is celebrating her 65th on Tuesday.

I can see this maybe Vestergaard or Soyuncu (if fit) in for Faes and the young full back who’s name escapes me starting ahead of Castagne.

I like your thinking.  Barnes should get some respite too.

XI changes please. We really need to use the squad more and not risk burnout injuries.

 

Fitness permitting, I'd like to see something like;

 

Iversen

Wormleighton Vestegaard Brunt Thomas

Ndidi

Albrighton Praet Braybrooke Perez

there a month long break after next weekend and most of our squad won't be at the world cup, burn out won't be an issue

Yeah, I meant burnout injuries that could happen in the next week. A pulled hamstring from 3 games in a week could ruin World Cup plans and their 'pre-season' preparation (and their rest!).

 

Even in the short term, when you have a full squad of unused players, playing Newport at home feels like a good time to use them. Would also keep other players fresh for West Ham.

We are so close to the World Cup break, I can't imagine us risking Evans if his calf is in any way "hurty" -- it's not like he has to work his way up to match fitness less than a week before a six-week off period. And to heck with the Valencia game ... we are playing a League 2 team at home ... at least have some youngsters on the bench!
