That's what managers do as a rule no? Hoping not to play them unless needed. Along with a few youth players to gain experience who they'll bring if the match situation allows.

yeah but that’s not really brendan’s style. The bench will just be our best available players. I hope he has a spot or 2 for youth but I just doubt it. Ward, daka, maddison, barnes Youri, big dan/ faes , tim/justin.  Unfortunately theres just no chance he will take a risk

Should be going all out for the cup...

7 all-Premier League ties this round.

Last 16 first game back after the world cup and many players missing for the big clubs.

Plenty of rotation in the latter rounds due to fixture congestion, partIcularly for those in Europe.

Might not have a better chance of winning it.

That said, plenty of chance to get some youth players on the pitch in this game.

I don't mind starting with a strong 11 (although I wouldn't mind starting Maswanhise),.but could we have some of our main prospects on the bench? Alves Maswanhise and Braybooke especially. There is a good chance we could go into the second half with a four goal cushion (And I am treating myself to club seats for this...I might get to see some of these goals.)

Shameless self-promotion: I am hosting a pub quiz at the 1852 Brewery Co. in Wigston on Sunday Nov. 13 at 8pm. C'mon down.

For a game I was so unenthusiastic about 6 weeks ago, I’m actually looking forward to tomorrow now. Really not ready for the season to come to a temporary halt, so quite pleased we’ve got one more home game. Hopefully get to see a couple of kids either from the start, or from the bench.

4-3-3

Iversen

Albrighton

Vestergaard (Soy if fit)

Faes

Thomas

Mendy

Praet

Braybrooke

Perez

Nacho

Maswanhise

Wilf to get a bit of action from the bench, really no point risking him or Evans if not fit. Get them right for Boxing Day.

Would love to see Alves and Wormleighton get a few minutes too

I'm just being devil's advocate here and don't know the academy players like some do. Is anyone really confident that one of them has the potential to be the next KDH, Thomas or Barnes? If they are then why isn't that player already loaned out and doing what Barnes did at West Brom or KDH at Luton?

....KDH went on loan far too late, but you never got the thought that he ever pushed for it!!!

Thomas struggling for game time and Barnes is still at the same level for some seasons.

Sammy Braybrooke is going to be a class player  we have had opportunities to introduce him in games, but we have chosen not to.  Wormleighton needs game time and he is ready for a loan, he is mature enough to handle playing, but I can see him drifting the longer he is playing U21s football. I have watched Alves play a few games, you have to take his age into account and see how he progresses, Ric is his number one fan and seen more about what he can offer, I am not convinced at the moment, but as I said, his age is something you have to take on board.

Maswanhise- unsure where he fits on the pitch.

Madivadua - still stuck in U21 mode and need to get out and push himself.

Popov - being held back too long, you could see last season he was ready to take his game forward, we, just left him to his own devices.

Brunt- looks capable and can certainly do with time away from the academy as well.

Loads of all Premier League ties in this round - including Chelsea vs Man City - so our draw at home to League 2 opposition is a gift we need to capitalise on. Another win to keep building momentum will do us no harm at all too. I'd rest a few players from the starting 11, but I'd certainly have them all on the bench just in case.

I'd like to see:

Iversen

Amartey Evans Soyuncu Thomas

Praet  Ndidi

Albrighton Iheanacho Perez

Vardy

I'd be open to seeing a couple youth players in their but no reason this can't and shouldn't be a full 11 of first team players. I'd be equally unsurprised if he opted to not rest Faes and Tielemans.

Leave Vestergaard out altogether again to make it clear he has no future here and needs to move on in January.

Well Soyu is out injured, I would also rest Amartey.

So I would try Young player at RB.

Vestergaard Evans..CB

Thomas. LB..

The rest of your choice why not, though I wouldn't mind, another Youth player somewhere in the mix.

Newport will come hard, our players must be up for the challenge. If we are taking this serious, in these games you

have to be prepared to put in a shift..

How many tickets have we sold for this. Support may be shocking…

It’s disappointing. I’m sat in my usual place in SK4 and the atmosphere is going to be dire. More empty seats than full.

Typical TV scheduling Newport are the lowest team left in the cup but TV put 2 all Premiership ties on instead, way to spread the money down the footballing pyramid.

Normally back fires as those Premier clubs end up playing academy players & not the stars the TV want.

Apologies as this has probably been asked 100 times, but does anyone know where I can watch this tonight? When the draw was made I didn't think I'd have any interest in watching it. What a difference a few games can make

Braybrooke masterclass

I know it's not sold out but the attendance will still be higher than that!

This Braybrooke lad everyone keeps mentioning.

How does anyone know he's any good? On YouTube?  Is it a case of the eyes seeing what they want to see?

Absolutely no chance of this team selection.

Watching him play for the England youth teams and Development team. There's plenty of opportunity to see the young lads play. Whether it be online or going to the games.
