Brazil looking bang average tonight. On that performance tonight, England would be capable getting a result against them.

….. no… no it’s not worth it… I can’t be bothered…

Is Diane Abbott in charge of numbers at this World Cup? Because anything involving numbers makes no ****ing sense.

I’m still trying to get my head around the contested part in possession stats.

England had 70% of the ball and Iran only had 10% the other day.

Not sure what more you could ask for? It’s not like they were clinging on at any stage? If England won that game in that way we’d call it a very good win and performance.

I predicted Brazil to win the whole tournament, and that performance tonight has only reinforced my view. Serbia were tipped by many as 'dark-horses' and have some very decent players - their organizational levels shone through in the first 45. That said, whilst Brazil started slowly, the passages in play in that second half were outstanding at times. Very possible that they get nine points from this group now, and with that momentum, I feel that they will be the team to avoid when we get to the knockout stages.

Just played the game for fun. Beautiful to watch.

And Ronaldo. Oh gosh. The way he used to pick up the ball and move.

Still my all time favourite player. He was something else. He had everything and more.

I’m not so sure, it will be close but Brazil have the makings of a quality team. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was the final thought. Sorry Spain can’t take a result against a side with literally zero effort seriously, that was a warm up. Anyway the cup isn’t won in one, but will will see a lot swing, just what we saw at the euros

Romario, Bebeto and Denilson were also fantastic.

Hmm..

Gareth Bale is absolutely rubbish, what's he even doing in the Welsh squad, absolute fraud, useless.

Yeah, good point well made. You feel like they can always play better than they do and maybe it's that external pressure that makes them go into their shell.

I thought Vickery explained it really well earlier and it's kind of where I stand, the South Americans had the mercurial talent and fire while the Europeans had a bit more organisation, now the Europeans have picked up more of the former whilst the South Americans haven't really picked up the latter, and it is kind of true - no South American winner since 2002, in Russia 6 of the last 8 were European and all of the semi finalists were.

Even tonight I did get a sense of it. Brazil weren't bad but I still thought that performance was as a collective poorer than Spain the other night and you could argue England / France looked better too. I thought individual quality bailed them out somewhat whilst with Spain I think you had a genuinely collective display all over the pitch.

England are a much tighter defensive unit  though, Richarlison wouldn’t have been given to score a goal like that in the first place because the defending is a lot tighter.

Diane Abbott eh? The old chestnut. Perhaps Liz Truss or KamiKwarsi might have been a more relevant comparison in view of their recent inability to make any figures stack up. But, no, Diane Abbott. 🤔🙄

Bang average was ridiculous phrasing though no?

Brazil were not bang average. Some of their football second half was outrageous and they managed to break down a Serbian brick wall.

But yes, England could beat them.

How is this difficult?

I thought no meant yes.

Fancy this to be a really good game with lots of goals, I am going for a 3-2 Serbia win, Mitrovic and Mbeumo to be among the scorers in a World Cup classic.

Serbian winner in injury time

I just put $5 on 3-2 Serbia Mitrovic to score first, and within seconds he’s rolling around the floor in agony. Then he hits the post and misses a sitter.
And this kids, is why we don’t gamble! Put everything on the 0-0
