Genuinely the best news of the season.

Tactically and ability-wise, I think most of this lot are beyond redemption as far as our PL survival goes. But if Kingy can at least convince a few of them that the badge is worth fighting for - this season and beyond - that's enough for me.

He’s got a touch of the linker about him, in that he is probably a bit too nice to actually make a good manager. But great news that he’s involved

Finally some good news! Someone with deep rooted connections to our club and city. :appl:

As, of course, is Jon Rudkin, who would have signed off this appointment..

Would like to think King has been fast-tracked into the position entirely on merit.

But fear this may be another example of the culture of cronyism at work within our club.

Herlihy bingo

- "Tell them you're sticking a 15 year old and 16 year old on the bench at old trafford.... don't worry you'll only have to ACTUALLY put one on the bench"

- "Getting a bit hot in here again isn't it, what's Kingy up to? Ruud you did say you needed another coach didn't you???"

What are the odds he's a caretaker manager before this season runs it course?

He's got at least three or four stints in that role coming up I reckon. Ryan Mason springs to mind

It will be interesting to see what happens here.

Sometimes players that have slightly undistinguished playing careers become very good managers. They have the motivation to do what they could not do on the pitch. Nuno at Forest, Moyes, Dyche, Potter, etc. Even Klopp was an average player but an incredible manager! Even if "just" remains as a coach or an assistant, he could still have a big impact.

I think the best case for a club like Leicester would to be have a manager that is good, but also loyal to the club and area. Really we should be in a situation like Thomas Frank at Brentford who has been there since 2016, starting as coach before moving up to manager. Not saying it should be King, but point is that we should be a stable club and project.

I had a touch of Lineker about me when I saw Ward's name on the teamsheet.
