Great work out for the lads and another 1/4 final. Avoid Man City/Liverpool in the draw and a great chance of another semi.

I can't remember my last semi.... not since the snooker (ref)

Perfect run-out before league action resumes. We looked rusty at times but generally the play was good and almost as synced up as before the break.

Nice to see Alves come on. He barely had a kick for a while and it looked like he was going to have a pretty anonymous cameo until that nice run towards the end, giving us a glimpse of what he's capable of.

A good win.

That was nice, so glad we're back playing. Need to harness this feeling as it's been horrid at times in 2022 but I like the cut of our jib right now as we look to play with pace even when we've passed it around probing for an opening, which is a stark difference to before.

Well done to Rodgers for giving Alves and McAteer some minutes too, they will both be buzzing. Rodgers reaction to Alves when he was coming on was great to see, think you can tell they have massive hopes for him. He's still some way off being ready but it's a process and being able to get a handful of chances when 16/17 is unbelievable for him.

Oh and Luke Thomas, what on earth 😂😂😂

Is Mcateer seen as a future LB/LWB by the club? I think he’s played a few times there for the u21’s too hasn’t he?

Quite possibly, think that's where Forest Green Rovers tended to play him too. He's a curious one as he's not highly flashy but he's very competent at passing, tackling, running with the ball and he's pretty quick. Scores goals when given the opportunity. Was really disappointed he barely got a sniff at FGR but hopefully he gets another loan next month and can kick on.

Surprised the lineup was so strong, But a competant performance from all given the long break for most of them.

I thought Thomas, Soumare and Perez were excellent but many others not far behind.

A good warm up for the big game against Newcastle who are making real progress, So not going to be easy.

Nice to see us continue our good run after the world cup, And long may it continue for the rest of the season.
