Bazly Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 We are, reportedly, apparently, possibly, mysteriously in prime position to land the great Phil Jones this month as he is moved on by Manchester United. Please assure me that its not so.

frany104 Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 I wouldn’t be against this if it were a loan. No way should be be signing him though.
surrifox Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 Is he still a thing ? I assumed he retired about 2017 . Anyhow there’s no more room at the club for crap/ clapped out central defenders we’re over our allocation 1 2
CosbehFox Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 Mentioned this to my Dad last night, he’s honestly better than all of our centre backs if fit. That’s a big if, but he could quite easily have a Smalling esque comeback 1
Tuna Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 Hard to know how good he is these days, he hardly ever plays.
TMELcfc Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 This is exactly the sought of crap I expect us to sign while Rodgers is here Huge wages as well, along with being injury prone 1

He actually has experience of being in a team what win honours and has done for a number of years. His CV and experience is more akin to Jonny Evans than Vestergaard You’d take him on a loan deal cos of his injuries and look to offset wages back to Man U if injured
Popular Post Nolucklcfc Posted 4 January 2023 Popular Post Posted 4 January 2023 I would genuinely want us to do this purely for the reaction. It would be absolutely iconic 5
adejo92 Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 (edited) This bloke seems like he's been around forever. Probably brings similar experience to Evans, but I fear for his injury risk and the wages he'll likely demand. I think we should be looking elsewhere, this just stinks of a desperate Everton signing. Steve Earle Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 Pay as you play deal, no problem. Anything else would be madness. The kind of madness for example that sees a club sign a broken Portuguese full back to a five year contract, or Albrighton until 2024, or Vestegaard and not play him, or... 2

Injury prone and huge wages. If however, like you suggest, it is just a loan and we pay very little, then fair enough. But that doesn't sound sensible enough for us.
Simoken Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 (edited) Im actually thinking this would be a decent purchase, think the lasttime i saw him play, he was praised afterwards. #BRMASTERCLASS Edited 4 January 2023 by Simoken
DoveValleyFox Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 His injury record + our injuries record = what could possibly go wrong 1
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 (edited) Doesn't he get injured when he gets the odd league cup game Anyway he doesn't want to get out of ManU cos the money he gets is far to high that no dumb club could match it😂 Edited 4 January 2023 by CrispinLA in Texas
cruzFOX Posted 4 January 2023 Posted 4 January 2023 Please kill this thread! This is beyond a joke our dire situation is no laughing matter 1
