Simoken Posted 18 January 2023 Posted 18 January 2023 I wouldnt worry too much, alot of that debt is probably borrowed from the Aussy bank, that LCFC are paying off in quarters i believe. 1

Good to have a few facts banded about on here. And TBF they are VERY less than average at the moment. On the facts front as only Vardy, Maddison and Evans are earning more than £92k, out of about 25 players, how can the average be £92K? 1st website I looked at said £58.2k (seems in the right area), Don't know how the sites get the numbers, there are some slight variations but those numbers seem top end. 5

The 92k apparently includes player bonuses in Europe it was explained on the @BSLBPod 3
An Sionnach Posted 18 January 2023 Posted 18 January 2023 The total salary bill is a published fact , work it out for yourself, average pay comes in at about £4 million a year about half of Man.Utd. and Chelsea. 25× 4 gives you £100 million a year. This is the cost of playing in the top half of the PL if you want to stay there expect to pay this plus inflation.

The 287m debt figure is from the 2021 accounts so could be even higher now if the club has taken out loans against future EPL TV money up to 2025 (exact amount not known yet) 1

Bertrand, Evans, Mendy, Amartey, Teilemans, Soyuncu and Perez are all out of contract in 6 months, and hopefully we can shift the likes of Vestergaard and Praet very soon too. It should free up a few million from the wage bill to hopefully bring in more players in the summer. 1
Sly Posted 18 January 2023 Posted 18 January 2023 Doesn’t that number also include all staff for the club? I.e, coaches, youth, admin etc 2
Lesta Legend Posted 18 January 2023 Posted 18 January 2023 Only posted in this forum yesterday. While I think the club is in a precarious situation and it’s down to the owners to want to properly fund its losses in the long run, this puts ‘facts’ into context by an actual expert and breaks down where we are FFP wise. So many incoherent unqualified opinions on here about the subject but this video does at least help with a better understanding. 2

tetly Posted 18 January 2023 Posted 18 January 2023 Hopefully all this borrowed money is for the stadium upgrade. If this is for our day to day running costs it’s a big problem obviously.

Any ‘average’ figure will be significantly skewed.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 18 January 2023 Posted 18 January 2023 Debt is less important than revenue which is OK since we won't get relega....oh. 1
st albans fox Posted 18 January 2023 Posted 18 January 2023 We arent necessarily borrowing the money - they’re facilities in case we do need to borrow at short notice. It could be that king power want to ensure that if they aren’t in a position to finance shortfalls then we can borrow against future income and king power would expect to be in a position to then invest in the future as travel recovers. 2

st albans fox Posted 19 January 2023 Posted 19 January 2023 clear how covid empty stadiums hurt turnover …… not us though - our paltry capacity made little difference - we went the other way once we had full stadia!

Mostly from Football Manager - believe it or not. That said, the researchers on FM work really hard to try and verify players wages, But they are based on educated guesses form players statements, agents statements, overall payroll figures in accounts (accounts dont give a breakdown by player) 1
