Absolutely brilliant against spurs, today finds himself behind wilf to start, then somehow soumare gets on ahead of him off the bench. He must be thinking wtf!

Rodger’s does this every time, presses the self destruct button just as we get on a good run, channeling his inner Pep, for those who are happy to lose to Arsenal cause it’s Arsenal, Everton beat these and Brentford got a draw at their Gaff, Rodgers “we were better in the 2bd half” you know the one we lost 1 0. Mendy has been MotM for Leicester for the past 3 games and then he‘s dropped . I try to like Rodgers but it’s tough with his favouritism to certain players over the likes of top performing players like Mendy . What is he thinking ?  All around me at the KP were querying the Ndidi over Mendy selection , and there was almost an audible groan when Soumare came on ! Papy is twice the player that Soumare is , able to take it in tight spaces and play forward through the lines . Rodgers what are you doing ? Your stubbornness with sticking with Ward over Iversen is another mind blowing move. Reminds me of Pearson‘s refusal to play Albrighton in the great escape season , until Albrighton became undroppable in the last 10 games of that season and we survived despite Pearson not because of him. Let‘s pray that Rodgers learns that lesson quickly or there will be no escape !

I presume the logic is that Soumare is a more attacking midfielder than Mendy (top corner blockbusters aside) but don’t get me wrong, I’d bring on Filbert Fox ahead of Soumare

Rodgers should be sacked just on the fact he left mendy out , mendy has been fantastic yet he doesn’t even get a run today , if we go down it’s all on Rodgers

Mendy is such a tidy player that he rarely loses the Ball. Yes he made the error that cost us against Spurs when we collapsed late in the game.

But since coming back into the side he's being playing well and building his confidence.

Now he's out again he must be wondering whar he has to do to get an unbroken run in the team to help him establish himself.

 

I wouldn't mind trying him in the Maddison role either when Maddison is not playing.

He holds the ball up well is a very good passer and just as mobile as Maddison, He'd also be better in defending from the front than Maddison as he's a better tackler.

I mean the players should probably take atleast a tiny percentage of the blame except perhaps Maddison (and the world class Mendy of course)

.. also Mendy has an impressive goal scoring record, lethal from 20 yards...sounds like a cunning plan to me.

I know we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, but perhaps there is more than we know on such occasions? Like a slight niggle? Or a player ‘felt something’?  Maybe not but we don’t have to always assume there is mischief at play.  
 

It must be exceptionally tiring to see the worst at every opportunity.

Yet in our managers eyes he feels hes third choice behind "The fridge"!

It’s also the first Football vs. Homophobia fixture since Mendy decided to support Gueye’s decision to refuse to play for PSG because of the rainbow shirt number right?
