whetstonefox Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Page 249 I was thinking , yep get Rafa gives us half a chance, page 250 oh dear, that’s it , championship it is. That said we have to get behind whoever we appoint(assuming we ever actually get to that point!)
Samilktray Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 We’ve used Marsch and Benitez to force Dean Smiths hand, what a manipulative little football club we are! 4
Mickyblueeyes Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 If any of the 19 other clubs in the PL hired Smith, I would’ve called them tin pot and said they deserve relegation. Oh…

Leicester_Loyal Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 I know you shouldn't write them off early and I hope to be proved wrong but Dean Smith is not gonna keep us up.
winteriscoming Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 How the fvck do we go from a champions league winning manager to a championship manager within half an hour? Fvck it. Relegate us now.
Pliskin Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 All those saying no to Rafa….. how you you feel now?

Not even Villa fans would define his time there as such. Sacked twice and we want to stay up. Jesus wept. This shows where we are. Literally as an interim with the goal of better coach / up and coming European one at the end of season is the only one I can accept this as a stop gap. But I don’t trust the club to do a such or get anything right. Alas, if he actually makes pragmatic changes we still have a small chance.
Deeg67 Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 This all goes down to waiting too long to fire the guy who was obviously (except to our beloved Top) dragging us down to the Championship. Look at all the names that have come off the board since we should have fired Rodgers this season (not even factoring he should have been fired before it started) - really good managers. 1
CastagnesLasagnes Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 I think people are completely missing the point - if he's happy to come in as an interim and walk away in the summer if we want him to, we've both got nothing to lose, win win in a lose lose situation tbh 2
Matt Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 ****ing disgrace. **** me. Have some ****ing imagination! 1

21st Century Fox Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Not ITK so don't shoot me down. I've heard Dean Smith is a huge fan of coconuts and was swayed by the promise of a surplus supply of coconut drinks the club had in storage. Just passing it on.
RedSoxUK Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 Honestly this is disturbing. The story about Jesse Marsch and "championship strategy" is correct then. Reading between the lines the club will basically have no money and no players in the event of relegation. Marsch and Rafa have clearly told LCFC that taking this job on with PL survival / Championship promotion expecting fans is suicide. I don't actually mind the idea of Smith and Shakespeare at all. But it feels like a step towards financial ruin to me.

Glorious Leicester Fan Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 The lack of accountability/foresight is a joke. DoF seems to be immune to the footballing adage that “it’s all about the results”. A cynic could argue that it’s not in his interest for the DoF to appoint a manager who will challenge and question him. Hence this appointment. There is nothing to suggest this appointment will turn out well. Add to the fact that the club needs an unprecedented rebuild, which will define our club for several years to come, the future doesn’t bode well.

To be clear, I'm not saying it's a good appointment by any margin. Like you say, we should be appointing someone to keep us up.. 1
Popular Post Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 April 2023 Would genuinely rather have the Rafa lookalike than Dean Smith 8
Pliskin Posted 10 April 2023 Posted 10 April 2023 At least we will get a free beer and cake against Wolves to soften the blow.
