I think this is actually, in a weird way, where the problems start.

Nigel Pearson built an absolutely fantastic club here. He got recruitment bang on, modernised stuff like nutrition, sports science, data analytics, sports psychology, etc. Brought us in to the 21st century.

But he did it from the manager's office. The fact that a manager has so much control over all of that in the first place is wild, piecing most of that together should have been done by the club at an executive level.

But we've had success letting the manager do it so we think that's what works.

Hence why Ranieri was then allowed to disassemble it all. Because it's ultimately the manager that chooses how the club is run, whether they're qualified to or whether their ideas are poor or not.

This is true.

But it also takes talent to understand, recognise and repeat that level of elitism and performance. Unfortunately, Vichai probably did understand it as a businessman, the current board do not seem to.

'And to Leicester City - who did NOT sign anybody, Rudkin was as good as an absent father.'

And as Tiny Top observed: 'God help us, everyone!'

It's hard to know how good and bad Vichai was really because he sadly passed before we were truly tested.

He made some hideous mistakes, he was the one that gave Rudkin the job, he didn't see the value of actually having a genuine DoF. He had a love of big names and image and it feels like he lucked in to Pearson's success a bit.

He definitely was more of a force to be reckoned with, though. I have a hard time imagining we'd have been taken for a ride financially as much as we have under Top. I also don't see Rodgers surviving long enough to get us relegated.

With the El Khannous deal falling throught due to the fact that:

1 after the sale of JJ and MaCteer we no longer need to sell for PSR balancing.

2 The clubs could not agree on a valuation and anyway Leicester wanted the full amount up front, which I believe  CP did not want to do.

We move on.

Just a side thought..

I know Rudkin has been getting props recently because we seem to be selling a few and getting back on track, but I can’t help but feel this has been forced upon us..like we have no choice and only one option on what we can do. In other words, his  ‘ability’ (decision making and playing silly buggers ) has been removed and he HAS to follow the plan presented to him. So he’s just become an administrator, effectively.

so he’s not the messiah, he’s  still a very naughty boy.

It would have been fairly normal (In England at least) for the manager to have that oversight - most wouldn't have used it incidentally such was Pearson's vision. I loathe to give King Power much credit, even Vichai, but the best thing he ever did was hand the reigns to Pearson to build a club. His trust in domain exerts like Rennie, Walsh, McKenzie, Balsom was the crucial element.

They failed to notice that Pearson was almost one of a kind altruist manager who thought more about the club than his own career - they just think that's what managers do despite plenty of evidence to the contrary.

Really Rudkin has had an amazing opportunity as a DoF, all the faculties in place,  a lottery win title just as he started his tenure, supportive but clueless owners, academy director, and a patient fanbase - what's he done with an insane level of autonomy? Royally f uck things up. He's an agencyless moron.

Excellent work, Finners. Also proved that, at best, Rudkin was involved in four key transfers for the title win (Kante, Huth, Fuchs, Okazaki) and I doubt he was heavily involved.

He got it in the right time and we have declined as his influence has grown.

We are definitely still in a mess because of the poor running of the club over the last 5 years, but JR isn’t going anywhere, so let’s just hope and pray he’s learned from all of this and from the way the fans are reacting to him.

He needs to be better, so much better when dealing with players contracts and whatever his role is regarding actually bringing players to the club he needs to properly recognise a good deal and a bad one.

This window has been a step in the right direction moving on some earners, if he can secure 30-35m (with a big chunk upfront) for Bilal, then bring in a striker and a midfielder along the lines of Ivanovic or someone in that mold we could sit back and genuinely say he’s done a decent job this summer.

At the end of the day if he can get a couple of decent players in and he continues to move on the dead wood and we go back to the blueprint that made us so great, there will come a point where we can all move on and forgive and forget the mess that we have been through, although his record will always have a massive stain on it for blowing such a huge opportunity over the last 5 years to continue to grow the club and instead regressing it.

He really doesn’t have any more chances left with the fans so he really needs to finish this window strong.

Cameras on him for 10 seconds or so, I immediately dropped a C bomb on seeing him, wife wasn’t happy with my language, the TV screen survived though.

Im worried he was only selling players in order to try and satisfy PSR and doesnt see the benefit of clearing out a few others.

It all seems to have slowed down since that tweet came out saying we had met our PSR requirements.

Do something, sign a striker and a CM for once do your job please!

It’s on Aiyawatt not Rudkin if he’s not prepared to actually spend the money required after pocketing all that transfer money..
