Our demise was inevitable the moment we failed to cement 4th place for the 2nd time. I said as much at the time and was met with, but FA Cup. 
 

What would I like to save?  Our club. That is all, in whatever form. It needs a massive overhaul and most of the idiots in our hierarchy need replacing.

There was never a chance of this. No way on earth we, or anyone, could compete long-term with the greedy six except by going down the Newcastle route (like Chelsea and Man City did), and in all honesty I'd rather not have success than get it like that.

By "force" I didn't mean a top 4 or even top 6 club.

I was referring to a club in that 7-10 group; that is always a win or two away from hitting Europe or with a good cup run is a shout to win it kind of level.
