Win would be amazing draw satisfactory. As mentioned if we could just remain unbeaten away from home and get the wins at home we'd be just fine. Seven points to safety I think.

Go and get at then from the start.

I think this is their best route to a win

get at us early and get the crowd up - it’s a v noisy place when Leeds are motoring

you’d expect us to make a mistake and concede if we’re out under real pressure - then the place is really rocking

BUT - on the run they’re on they won’t want to let in the first goal so will they have the bottle to play that way from the start ????

first goal wins tonight imo

I fancy us to win this one more than Everton game. Win here and a dour 0-0 against Everton wouldn't be too bad.

Get the first goal and Leeds fans will be on the back of the manager.

Avoid defeat as a minimum.

Draws are no good now especially if the others gain a win. Puts both sides in the shite. We need 3 points tonight. Same positivity and get the job done.

Depends who the draws are against. However, I don't see Smith playing to nick a point.

Another “CUP FINAL” day starts bloody nerves have set it all ready reading the sports news, a real relegation battle which we all are hoping our lads put in a Stellar Performance and bring home those major important 3pts back from Leeds.

I’m sure Saturday’s win over wolves have given us a major boost in confidence now hoping Deano and Co pick our strongest team to put Leeds to the sword a performance like the win over The Vile & Spuds would be a welcome sight tonight ! Heart saying a 0-3 win Head is saying and I don’t care if it’s a cheeky 0-1 win so long as we get the win !

Me neither but a draw against Liverpool & Newcastle would be a bonus a win would be better 😉

We need to start the game at a high tempo and score early. If we do that I can see the crowd turning on the team and we'll run out comfortable winners. If it's a close encounter the longer the game goes on without a goal the more cautious we need to be. I think the win on Saturday will have given the team a shot in the arm and allow us to play with a bit more freedom so I'm hopeful we'll come away with all 3 points.

According to their fans, Leeds have a major tactical problem at the moment in that all their best players are forwards and their instinct is to attack, but the heavy defeats against Crystal Palace and Liverpool have left them terrified of being caught on the counter. However they don't have the players to sit back and soak up pressure either, so the players aren't really sure what to do. Against Fulham they apparently tried to keep it tight but this nullified them as an attacking threat and they still gifted Fulham two goals. I can't imagine them sitting back tonight (they're at home and badly need a win), which means they'll likely throw everything at us and hope to get two or three goals up before we can reply. If we can show some resilience and withstand the early barrage, you'd imagine a front four of Maddison, Barnes, Iheanacho and Vardy would have some fun against them.

Was thinking about this last night.

They aren’t a good side but will come for us right from the off.
The Elland Road faithful will expect no less and it will be very loud.

IF we go defensive and allow them to do this, it’ll be the wrong thing to do.
We need to knock their confidence and to shut the crowd up, by taking our game to them. I think we need to go right at them back! We are a better team than they are and need to confidently show this right from the off.

I genuinely believe this has to be the game plan.

I was talking to a Leeds supporter yesterday and he said this could be the game they turn on the manager if it goes bad. We need to inflict that.

Woken up this morning with the match day feeling. Not had it for so long. At least a year, if not longer. Genuine excitement, fear, nerves etc.

I hope to keep it for the rest of the season. Something that was lost under the last regime.

That's why I think if we can start on the front foot, their fans will turn very quickly.

If we do concede first I think we still have it in us to win, but it will be survival mode for the 10 mins or so after

I had it on Saturday. Made me a bit emotional as I thought I'd lost it

If you think most of the goals we concede are from transitions after we’re in possession. Actual defending, we seem quite good at, so I’m not too worried provided we can stay disciplined.

The smart approach for Leeds would be to allow us to have the ball, but I can't see Elland Road accepting that. We've got to get our final ball much better than against Wolves.

I can see us setting up cautiously in this, if we do I think we’ll lose. For as long as I can remember this tactic hasn’t worked for us.

considering the last few fixtures, we really need to win this and Everton.

I just know their keeper is going to have an absolute Worldy if they don’t drop him. He’s made Danny Ward look good in recent games. Tonight he makes save after save.

Really want us to get it done as soon as possible. Under Rodgers I wanted that because there was zero evidence of us having the fight anyone else had. Smith has restored that, but I still don't fancy some of these players to get us out of it if we still need points with a few games to go.

Win this, beat Everton.

Previously the idea of setting up to not lose was a disaster because of

a) Brendan's small man mentality

b) didn't have the personnel in defence.

We've now got someone installing confidence into these players & he's picking our best defenders. I don't mind a cautious, counter attacking approach tonight. Avoid an early goal & the Leeds fans will turn.
