CHRIS SUTTON: Martin O'Neill reveals that he would have been 'delighted' to have taken the Leicester job, if they had called... and insists that the 'high press' has been around since 1976!

That has to be the longest title in Foxestalk history.

I don't want to be regionalist here but whenever I hear Sutton giving his opinion on the radio all I can picture is a farmer leaning over a gate chatting s**t about the football he knows nothing about.

He’s just wants to be controversial for attention and to stay relevant. Sad really.

I mean, I've probably hated Sutton longer than everyone on here but I don't get what he's said here that's contreversial....

They never were going to call. He's been out of club football for about 8 years. It's not even as much as a non-story.

To be fair, if Dean Smith turned us down they'd have been massively struggling, and Martin might have been a safe bet to at least not get a backlash by going for someone really uninspiring from lower leagues. I think it's more likely than you think. Especially considering they went for him before we got Sven in.

So glad with what we got though. I don't think anything other than this set up would have given us a better chance. Just baffling we even concerned Marsch.

I actually really like Sutton, he is clearly a wind-up and is smarter than most in football so just riles people up

Can tell when he has that wry smile

Sometimes he makes salient points as well, ever since I saw him talking about his Dad's dementia I really begun to like him

The only thing involving Sutton worth watching.

That actually looks like Dean smith making that tackle! Who was it?

I would have been happy with MON.

But honestly what Dean Smith brings to the table is that he brings some excellent coaches with him that he knows and works well with. I can’t help but think that if MON had got the call he would have been scrambling around to get some coaches to form a coaching team that potentially haven’t coached together before.

He's been out of football for way too long. At least Hodgson has been managing consistently.
