It absolutely was. He took over a team that couldn't play football and was swirling down the drain. Took apart the old boys club and put together a talented young squad with tremendous upside in ability and value.

People didn't like the football or the way he spoke. Vardy cried because Puel actually had the balls to upset the old guard for the betterment of the club.

It's undeniable that him and Macia took a sinking ship and massive improved it.

The season Vardy got 20 goals under him in spite of him is arguably one of the most jaw dropping achievements the PL has ever seen. The chance conversion from Vardy in a system that was so unsuited to him was legendary.

Puel wasn't a good manager for us at all but the club overall was better than when he left it, although wed been underperforming massively and could well have gone down had he stayed. Macia, however was a massive success overall.

He did indeed. You rarely see Vardy take a shot unless he's 12 or less yards out and clean through or absolutely hyped up. So i'm not surprised about his conversion rate.

We massively improved, we were heading out of the league with a squad that couldn't string 2 passes together and had an average age just short of the retirement age.  We needed someone that wasn't worried about upsetting people. Can't imagine the state we'd be in with people pleaser Rodgers in charge of dismantling such a close-knit group and then having to replace them with better footballers.

I was happy for him to move on and someone pick up where he left off but actually want to play football where we tried to score goals. I think he's massively underappreciated for the thankless task he had.

Either way. It's quite clear that the direction the club takes in terms of recruitment, tactics, etc are all chosen by the employees at that level. When it's quite clear that the best way to work is for the DOF to have this in mind and hire staff to fit into a successful style rather than chopping and changing styles.

He's been in this role now for 9 years and i've never heard him talk.

What accent do we reckon he's got? Do you think he's got a squeaky voice?

The bloke is a professional Arse licker and has made a successful career of cozying up to the chairman.

There is no way this man will be sacked.

agree

he wouldn't get another equivalent job so no way is he resigning.

I think everyones being a bit harsh on a chap that has achieved a UEFA Pro License.

Which he would of got the opportunity to achieve from brown nosing someone else in the game, he has got no other credentials within football to show for it.

His coaching experience is in grass roots and academy football not the top level of professional sport.

Needs to be a protest about the board and not just this clown.  There are a number of people culpable for the fall of this club, from the football side to taking the fans a little for granted.

The odd beer a couple of times a season does not paper over how far removed from the regular fan this club is at the moment.

Let me counter that.

The foundations for winning the league were not built with Jon Rudkin as DoF - he was relatively new in the role when it happened

He has overseen a shift away in the last 2 years from a recruitment model implemented under Vichai with disastrous results. This has resulted in scouts leaving the club who have become despondent over no longer being listed to

He has overseen a situation where £120m of assets are leaving the club for free. Iheanacho has 12 months left on his contract and will likely now not sign another with his value now diminished

He has overseen the appointment of Lee Congerton on Brendan Rodgers recommendation which resulted in a terrible recruitment window or 2021

He has been responsible for handing out ridiculous wages to average players resulting in Leicester having the 8th highest wage bill in the PL while sitting in 19th

He failed to act decisively on Rodgers and reportedly was involved in handing him an unprecedented amount of power

He is responsible for the direction of this football club and we have gone from a top 6 FA cup winning team to the championship in 18 months

All of the above, plus....

He has overseen an Academy system that has just seen our U21s relegated (as well!) and who only avoided relegation the previous season due to a technicality

He continued to employ his trusted lieutenants (Beaglehole,Peake etc) in key roles due to their loyalty to him, even though their methods were completely outdated and unsuited to the type of player we needed to develope if we were aiming to be a To6 club. We invested £100m in a state of the art training facility, yet we still have sub-standard coaches, the latest of who is an ex-Villa academy coach who seems to be solely focused on recruiting Villa academy rejects...

In short, our Academy is now in a similarly perilous situation to our fist team.........so, on the bright side,  at least there is some evidence of "continuity"

How much do those single prop planes cost to hire and fly a banner over the KP a few times? I’ll be happy to donate some cash if everyone else chips in.

If this was really him you couldn't write it.

Does Rudkin oversee the women's side of the club too? Or is that left to Emile? I ask because the women's team have been very proactive in making managerial changes when required. Unlike the men's side, where managers are left to stagnate.

A quick search through his followers suggest it isn't him when only Heskey of note does.
