TrentFox Posted 18 February 2024 Posted 18 February 2024 Luton have been superb. Absolute hats off to their energy and endeavour. Sooooooo hope they stay up at Everton’s expense.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 18 February 2024 Posted 18 February 2024 There’s clearly been a new directive to not do the longer added time Thats our game and Luton’s where at the start of the season it would’ve been over 7 minutes added on

Guest Col city fan Posted 18 February 2024 Posted 18 February 2024 The problem with VAR is very obvious. It ISNT being used to question clear errors. It’s being used to analyse EVERY decision. This was always going to happen. The nonsense that was spouted about why VAR was exactly that. Nonsense. And so many have fallen for it
Wymsey Posted 18 February 2024 Posted 18 February 2024 Thinking about Holgate's challenge earlier, what's the worse challenge you've seen? I'd probably say Roy Keane's on Haaland senior..

Ref's decision - goal kick to West Germany. Edited 18 February 2024 by SouthStandUpperTier 3

France had a wonderful team including Platini, Tigana and Giresse. The horrific tackle notwithstanding, France were 3-1 up at half-time of extra time, but the Germans being the Germans pulled it back to 3-3 and won the penalty shootout. Thankfully they lost to Italy in the final. But that great France team that were so wronged in '82 at least went on to win Euro '84. 1

And, call my cynical but I'd expect if Man U had needed a late goal there would've been more time added on. See Arsenal v Luton the week or so before!

AjcW Posted 19 February 2024 Posted 19 February 2024 Roy officially resigns. Seems to have been handled horrifically. Don't think anything will change at Palace until the DOF/Chairman changes to be honest.

Cant fault his commitment as a manager. worked on some tight budgets and always having to sell a player to balance the books it seems since he came to England. I wish him all the best.

Apparently the issue at Palace - there's about four people who have a stake in the club and they all have differing opinions. Two of them openly hate each other. 1
David Hankey Posted 19 February 2024 Posted 19 February 2024 Hodgson should never have come back. It has obviously affected his health and at his time of life (76) he really should be taking life a bit easier.
Vacamion Posted 19 February 2024 Posted 19 February 2024 There's going to be a lot of sentimental stuff about Hodgson following this. Fair play - a lifetime in the game, and he did well at Fulham and stabilised Palace and returned last year to steady them However, his stewardship of England was woeful. Will never forgive him for 2016 when he selected Wilshire when he could have taken an in form Drinkwater, and he kept misusing / underusing an in-the-form-of-his-life Vardy.

The manager has been lined up for a while and Hdogson would have probably moved on earlier but for the medical issue.
Vacamion Posted 19 February 2024 Posted 19 February 2024 Whilst the LOL result here would be a Palace thrashing of Everton, making their fans realise they really are in bother, but I don't see anything other than a home win.
Wymsey Posted 19 February 2024 Posted 19 February 2024 Glasner is some coup for Palace, given his Europa League success. Am surprised he chose them, to be honest, given their fairly precarious position and assumed tight budget.
Vacamion Posted 19 February 2024 Posted 19 February 2024 Why are Palace slinging in high crossed balls into the box against a Dyche side?

Muscat got an 8 game ban, and Zhaha lost his career that day. He was a promising winger and would have had a decent A League career, didn’t play again after the tackle at the highest level I don’t think. Kevin Muscat really made Roy Keane look like Andy King.
Aus Fox Posted 19 February 2024 Posted 19 February 2024 These two Everton and Palace really are shite aren’t they? I honestly don’t see either of these right now being any trouble for the top 4 teams in the championship.
Wymsey Posted 19 February 2024 Posted 19 February 2024 (edited) Always felt that Pickford had the potential to go higher in his career, but regularly believe that he lets himself down with poor clearances, passes and decision-making. Edited 19 February 2024 by Wymsey 1
