Difficult to argue IMO. We do have a seriously strong team on paper. Filled with internationals and top names on massive money.

But, most of those players are in awful form and have been for ages, they don't want to be here and they don't have the right mentality to get promotion.

They need moving on.

We had a strong team on paper last season, it was on the pitch where the problems arose.

And in the dugout, obviously.

3 players? Don't think that's quite right lol

Probably not counting the players who were out of contract at the end of June, as they were technically never our players in the Championship.

We haven't had creatively beyond Maddison for a long time and still haven't while we wait for signings. We have a team far too good the division in many ways but really need some wingers and more creativity in the second 8 position (alongside KDH) if we want promotion. That said, we seem to be targeting those areas so for the first time in years our recruitment looks like addressing our flaws.

Yep.

The palpable disappointment from some Chelsea fans that Casadei isn't going to get a runout in the cups, with the others excited at how good he'll be after another season's experience, at least tells me that he's a serious prospect. If he's half as good as he sounds, Casadei is another player who'll be far too good for the division.

Another winger needed, one or two more CBs for depth and we're looking very ominous. If the rest of the league hates us, good.

Agreed. Personally I'd like to see two more wingers but yeah things are shaping up pretty nicely.

Leeds fans seem rightly pissed off with seeing Southampton getting actual transfer funds from sales while Leeds are just loaning people out.they

Leeds' DOF was unbelievably worse than Rudders. Their fans absolutely loathed him.

at which point do we go full delusion and say we're winning a cup this season as well as pissing the league

after Cardiff?

Imagine that.. straight back up and into

europe🤣

In the unrealistic scenario we have just created i feel the league cup would be the most achievable. FA cup is taken more serious by the bigger clubs.

Playing well which brings confidence is fine. No reason why I wouldn't fancy us against any of the lower Premier League sides (except Forest, because we're just cursed at the City Ground).

Confidence on here is one defeat away from fracturing , two in a row and it usually crumbles completely. The long view is not for this forum. The players are far more sanguine about defeat , its football , it happens , you bounce back.

After the window. There's an obvious concern we could self sabotage and lose Faes and Wilf and Kels and even KDH and be left with unknown quantities as replacements.

Right now, if we just lost those we expect; VK and Souttar (regrettably imo), Mardy arse Castagne, the mentally vacant Soumare and the two keepers, then it'd be a bigger shock - a scandal - were we not to be promoted with a squad paid that much

How come QPR and Norwich have a league cup game tonight?

Cos QPR’s pitch wasn’t ready last week. Also why they have played two away games
