Stuntman_Mike Posted 24 April 2024 Posted 24 April 2024 That win last night should really settle us. I can't wait for Preston now 1

Popular Post Dahnsouff Posted 24 April 2024 Popular Post Posted 24 April 2024 It really makes me wonder if when we got so far ahead, did we mentally take our foot off the gas and then had difficulty reclaiming the required mindset? Needed the threat over our shoulder to get it back? 5
Wortho Posted 24 April 2024 Posted 24 April 2024 I'm going to the QPR game on Friday night with my QPR supporting other half. I will of course be cheering for them to beat dirty Leeds!!! 3

Beginning of the season was almost like we were all on holiday in the Championship, then things got tighter and we realised we all need to step up. It's also helped the atmosphere in the stadium to have some jeopardy in place. 1
HybridFox Posted 24 April 2024 Posted 24 April 2024 (edited) Do you think we'll do an open top parade if we win it? Bank Holiday Monday afterwards Edited 24 April 2024 by HybridFox 1

We had a job to do, we were expected to do it, we've almost done it. Celebrate at the ground, go on holiday and come back ready for next season where we should be. 9

I'm not sure at the end of last season I had any high hopes other than to steady the ship. I thought play offs would be a bonus, but after the turmoil we were in, I am over the moon that we are nearly back in the Prem. 2

Success in football is so rare, we should absolutely be celebrating an achievement and every title won should be celebrated. Man City are expected to win the Premier League, should they not celebrate if they win it because it’s what they’re expected to do? Last season was a shit show, and as supporters a reminder that Premier league football for us is not and never will be a certainty - the reward for enduring that season is we get to enjoy this one 14

I guarantee there would be a thread on here laughing at Leeds if they did it. The Premier League is a bit different IMHO, teams aren't expected to continually win that are they, especially not back to back.
MrSpaM Posted 24 April 2024 Posted 24 April 2024 There will 100% be an open bus parade through the city if we win the league Possibly not if we finish second 2

My son is too young to have gone to any previous parades, so why should the celebration police stop another one from happening and deprive him of what might be the last one of these we will have for a while. With 2 games to go we have amassed a points total that would have achieved automatic promotion every season in the league for the last 10 years (and more - i just cant be arsed to go back further). It has been a success, one with a sticky patch in the middle. 4
Ted Maul Posted 24 April 2024 Posted 24 April 2024 You'd think QPR still need a point to be safe- they will still be scrapping on Friday I'm sure. Their away record is better than their home record, but they will probably adopt away tactics against Leeds. Wouldn't bet against them getting something.

Bit of a stage on Vicky Park similar to when they won the Prem. 1

They’ll beat Saints over two legs then they’ll play the 3rd placed team or Norwich. They’ve already beaten Ipswich and Leeds this season so won’t be afraid of them, and I honestly think they were the best team we’ve played all season on Saturday. I was thinking this a while back too, given they've probably mentally been all about playoffs for a while, and they did play well against us at the weekend. Doesn't change the fact that that's one win in six though, that coming against Rotherham with a dodgy penalty thrown in. They could go into the playoffs in the worst form of the 4.

You’d like to assume they already have or are in the process of getting plans in place for something. 2

No-one will or should be saying “yeah we won the league but we should’ve won it by more than we did”. The aim was promotion, and with 2 games left it’s looking like we should be champions. So let’s celebrate that. The championship is a ridiculously hard league to get out of, let alone first season back with all sorts of stuff happening off the pitch. 7

The last time we won the Championship was 10 years ago… so anyone who is new to the club wouldn’t have experienced that. We only have one player who was here then and a whole lot of younger fans who wouldn’t have experienced 2014. Also, anyone laughing at another team celebrating success is a little bit weird in my eyes! You earn success over a season and deserve the opportunity to celebrate any way you chose at the end. 1
KrefelderFox666 Posted 24 April 2024 Posted 24 April 2024 Ideal result on Friday is a draw. Means Leeds are as good as out of the race to catch us but it still means we need that point on Monday. Would be a fantastic day if we have something to play for and seal the deal. Then come the Blackburn game, we need just a point to guarantee the title. Again something to play for and hopefully a party atmosphere. 3
