We  have to bounce back quickly or the expense of Seagrave Training Ground might become a millstone round our neck. It's keeping me awake at night that we might face a scenario where we might have to share it with another team to keep the costs viable. A team like Forest!

Absolute worst case scenario will be 6 or 7 years. If KP fck this up, we'd be the cheapest 'brand' asset for a VC fund to snap up that they could find by that stage.  Eeeer, Sheff Weds, Middlesbrough or Leicester? In the past, nothing in it..Now? Light years in terms of brand.

Appoint a decent manager and even a fire sale ravaged squad leaves us with Iversen, JJ, Souttar, KDH, Vards, Ricardo type players...we'll eat the division alive

Next season, straight back up.

Top will be motivated to redeem his Father’s legacy.

We’ll see a rejuvenated Leicester side, full of youthful hungry players, and bruised older egos, with a singular focus: to right the wrongs of last season.

It all depends on when we get started. Now is not the time for Top to procrastinate. 9 weeks and 2 days until our first game. The clock is ticking. If its going to take weeks to "reflect" on things that must be done regardless of if we stayed up or went down then we are in serious trouble. Staying up would only have plastered over a couple of things but the rot would still be underneath and changes need to be made quick to give us the best chance of bouncing straight back up. Some of our championship rivals will already be getting their ducks in a row. We need to take action fast and get everything sorted as quick as possible so we can have a new manager with what will be our full settled squad from day 1 after they get back from holidays.

If we don't go straight back up then I really worry for us. We need to come out swinging and blow away the competition.

Come out swinging.

v unlikely we go up next season

65 days to sort out manager, circa 15 players out and at least 10 in

Pre season disrupted with Asia trip

All being overseen by a clueless DoF and chaos behind the scenes

3 seasons minimum to come back up

Only 1/3 of teams come straight back up immediately - are we in a better shape than 2/3rd of relegated teams do we think?

We should come straight back up. With the correct plan. Potentially could sell two players at in and around £80m. When you then add the squad players of Praet, Castagne, Daka or Kelechi etc. there very likely could be a close to £90/£100m in sales. A good Championship side can quite easily be put together on £20m. With parachute payments, it’s worth the risk. With a genuine plan, proper Chairman/leader, DOF, manager, we should finish within the 6 best in the league.

However I don’t think that will happen. The chairman/DOF are not capable of doing what is required so I have us lower mid at best next year. I think it will take us a few years to get over what they’ve done

There hasn't been much cause for optimism, but money talks and relegated teams tend to do very well in the Championship because of sheer financial muscle.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been an instance of all three relegated sides staying down in the ten years since we were promoted and certainly not for some years before. Fulham and Norwich went up and down so often they became a meme. At least one of Southampton, Leeds and us WILL go up.

The money we'll bring in through player sales will be pretty much unprecedented at this level this summer. Most of the players left will be capable performers at this level. We have facilities that anyone bar around four clubs in English football would envy. Everything is in place to go straight back up with the right transfer business and managerial appointment. Frankly, if we don't come straight back up, it's a failure on the part of the club hierarchy.

The more time you spend in the PL the higher the wage bill. The more dead wood you accumulate. The more debt you build up.It’s not always an advantage to go down, having had a decent spell timewise in the top flight.
So much depends on whether the owner is willing able or even allowed to intervene.

With the right hungry players in and keeping the right players we could be a lot better than what we were this season(not hard) should see us deffo in top 6 at a minimum average manager 3rd-6th good manager 1st-2nd

My opinion only , I blame TOP for our drop , he failed badly when we had the chance to strengthen the team two years in a row , to get us into the top four , I am sure the players seen this as a weakness that the owner wasn’t prepared to get them into that top four spot . And here we are been relegated, our way out will be defined by how much TOP is prepared to put in , but maybe he should sell the club and move on .

We're just firefighting as a club, there's no long term vision, we appear to be limping along day by day.

Top's statement was no more than to reiterate King Powers commitment, to reconfirm what had been achieved and a little bit of 'you should feel bad for me as ive had some nasty messages'.

Commitment is one thing, but if you continue to commit to Rudkin and Co, it's pointless. We need a complete overhaul and long term strategy, without it, we could spend the remainder of this decade in the Championship.

I think we will sell Maddison and Barnes, but besides those out of contract just about everyone else will stay as the club or they won't get good enough offers.  We will ride it out for a year, Jamie, Patson and Kelechi will run riot and we will be back up in 2nd place next season.

That's my feeling as well. Selling Barnes and Maddison brings in a huge chunk of money at Premier League level, never mind the Championship, and we're going to get one hell of a lot of dead wood off the wage bill as well. That's before we think about players like Praet and Soumaré who'll probably have offers from abroad.

With those players gone, we may not actually need to sell anyone else and could sign a few young and hungry players from other Championship clubs who'll see us a great promotion prospect and place to develop themselves as players.

Depends on the manager and our recruitment. The easiest time to get promoted is soon after being relegated so we need to get it right this coming season or the next.

If we keep hold of Iheanacho I think he could pretty much singlehandedly get us up.

I do think we should sign players that have played in the championship and premier league before to add to the young player or two with potential.

Che Adams and Conor Coady would be welcome additions.
