That's it. He's a tidy midfielder. Nothing more, nothing less. He's had some good games for us but I swear some of our fans make out like he is Pirlo in his prime.

He's also shown more desire to sit here at LCFC on his wedge rather than getting football for the last two seasons.

I wish Mendy all the best. He deserves to play at the highest level elsewhere. He was way under-appreciated here. However at his age, 31, unfortunately he may have given up his best years to us and he may never find the best club to showcase what he can do in his prime.

I also think we wasted Perez. I know many fans didn’t like him, but he was never played in his favorite position - forward or no. 10. He is not a winger. And btw, when Nachos was injured, it would have been good for Smith to have Perez available. Thanks for Rodgers we sent him on loan to Spain. So he is leaving for free and we could not even use him when we battled against relegation.

Allowing for wage variation it has to be £350-400k per week which isn't bad given only 1 was guaranteed a start, now to shift a few more & bring in some income at the same time.

Why are we bothering with Evans? 48 games minimum next season, he'll be fit for about 15 of them.

This. Just bin him off imo, not sure what goes on behind the scenes but in media interviews & on the pitch he looks like a very uninspiring club captain

The great culling begins.

I am sad to read this news, but only because it acts as a stark reminder for how badly the club has been mismanaged over the last 24 months.

I'm also not sure about Evans, he's a walking sicknote. IF he plays, sure he'd be a great player to have around, but if he plays as little as he has done over the last 2 years then what is the point?

Also not sure about Evans. I can only imagine he's a 'leader' off the pitch.

But it's worrying reading some of his comments after matches or post-season. Not really knowing what went wrong doesn't really set a good example of knowing how to rectify things for next season. And that's from the club captain!

What kind of money is he on as well? Maybe it's worth cutting the loss, getting him off the wages and then reinvesting that in new leaders physically and mentally fit for the Championship challenge.

Evans would be waste of money, he's spent 70% of his leicester spell on injury table. Not his fault. But makes you think is it time for him to consider hanging his boots up.

Hardly the type you'd go to war for is he. Standards have plummeted since he was made captain.

The only way we should be offering Evans a new contract is if he is willing to be here for next to nothing.

Pay as you play would be a better deal.

That's 7 gone. About 500k a week on wages and at the very least, we'll be losing Maddison, Barnes, Castagne, Ndidi and probably Nacho too which would be another 500k minimum gone along with whatever we got for that lot in fees. I would conservatively say about £130m.

The transfer budget we could end up having on this basis would be nothing short of absurd.

All the more important we get someone in who knows how to spot a player.

If he is willing to accept a championship reserve wage... I think that it would be an excellent piece of business, even if we only get 20 games out of him.

At least we know that when he does play, hes going to be at a high level in the championship.

I just wish we could have a clause that forced him to retire from NI.

Not sure what you’re offering, but I’d like to put a fiver on the under please.

As expected, to be honest.

Reckon one of these was a 'snake' in the dressing room and unsettled other players.

Who?

Of all of them leaving, I'm most happy about Bertrand! Blatently had come here for a final pay day, did f all and got paid a lot of money. Just a joke really. No other job would you get paid so much for so long for literally doing nothing.

Mendy I do not blame as he's been treated like shite and to be honest would have been in my running for player of the season. Evans should also go as we need a new captain and if he stays on he'd also probably remain as captain.

I've said before. This is an absolutely crucial summer. We are looking at a new manager and potentially 12 new players. If we don't get this right, we will struggle for a long time on and off rhe pitch.
