That's well over £100m worth of players just being allowed to leave isn't it?

You'd imagine the director that oversaw that would be sweating nervously over it.

It evens itself out as we’d have to pay a club £100m to take Amartey off our hands

guess the club see Hamza as a space to fill and one less position to buy for, hence extending til next summer?

He has one year left anyway no?

Edit: sorry Stan I should have read the article properly first. It'd via an option. Fair play.

Dan's got a "Controversy" section on his Wikipedia page for this moment alone lol

The best thing he’s done in his career here defending like Bambi on ice.

I’d have been tempted to keep Mendy on at Championship level.

How much of the wage bill has that shaved off then?

Not sure he would have fancied it and I do t blame him for walking out.

That's 7 gone. About 500k a week on wages and at the very least, we'll be losing Maddison, Barnes, Castagne, Ndidi and probably Nacho too which would be another 500k minimum gone along with whatever we got for that lot in fees. I would conservatively say about £130m.

None of this is a surprise. Evans makes sense if we don’t offer some silly deal.

Based on last season, he has to be paid on a play and pay basis, just too much of a sicknote, last 2 years and chocolate hamstrings etc., age, the list goes on.

IF he plays 23 games, we'll have done well should he stay.

Sad to see some of them go. No point offering Evans an extension, hasnt the club learned giving contracts to sicknotes isnt worth it? No way he can handle the amount of games we will be playing and he's not exactly shined the last 2 years.

guessing here but probably because he’s not very good

That's it. He's a tidy midfielder. Nothing more, nothing less. He's had some good games for us but I swear some of our fans make out like he is Pirlo in his prime.
