Popular Post Adster Posted 28 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 28 June 2023 (edited) Some of our fans are just fvcking melts aren't they? Moan when you're not linked with anyone or doing deals, moan when you are doing deals. Everyone believes absolutely everything they hear in the media when it suits, but then is quick to say its all bullshit when it doesn't fit their negative, whingy agenda. Just enjoy the ride folks, relax! It's a great signing and exactly what we need. Edited 28 June 2023 by Adster 13 1

But he is unwanted at Wolves and wasn't that successful at Everton plus there isn't any other club after him..... surely because of that we could have got a better deal say 4m Edited 28 June 2023 by CrispinLA in Texas

If he's a strong contributing factor to promotion then he will have paid for himself. Look at it that way....
AKCJ Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 Superb signing. Not worried about overpaying a by a couple of million if we are getting guaranteed quality and leadership. Definitely need to give him the arm band straight away.

Aleksz Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 If he captains this team to promotion this year it will be every penny well spent. Onwards we go. 1

Koke Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 If we get promoted he will automatically be not good enough for us anymore. If we don't get promoted then he'll be an aging player on big wages draining us. Praying for the first option.

john ridley Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 7.5 million over 4 yrs ,not gonna break the bank is it .

A lot of money for a bit of back up. It’s highly likely he’s going to be on a decent wage here given we’ve beaten PL clubs to the signature. So it won’t be easy to shift. As I’ve said probably a good signing but on a piss poor deal 1

moore_94 Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 Where has the supposed 4 year deal come from? Not in the Express and Star article that first broke it and wasn't mentioned by either of Fabrizio or Percy?

If we were dragging our heels on Maddison to try and extract more cash and hadn't signed anyone by Friday there'd be uproar. 1
Skid_1884 Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 Just seeing the effort and passion he put into Everton’s last game against Bournemouth when only being a loan player shows why he is the type of signing we need. Probably paying too much for him but I would rather have him in a championship scrap than Faes or Evans

There was a time when we all though Ryan Bertrand and Jannik Vestergaard were sensible signings. At one point we were 2-0 up against Napoli, an electric team that went on to win Serie A and get to the Quarter Finals of the Champions League. It has literally all been downhill since then. That's why we are all burnt out and massively negative. I think we are over paying for players, but we are doing it to get it done quickly so Maresca can get to work with the team ASAP. We have learned from last year where we took too long to ship out Fofana and couldn't rejuvenate the squad. Of course this has different types of problems. It's probably the way to go for now though.
