Yeah. The inside information being:

It's us. Namely John Rudkin.

I ain't sure what else you need mate but that's enough for me to know we've chased this geezer for weeks and if/when he decides he fancies pasta more than doner meat off Narborough Rd after his 90mins we're back to the drawing board. There's no alternatives, this is it, s**t or bust. Probably bust.

But you don’t know there’s no alternatives  you’ve just decided there aren’t so must be right .

United after him, Ten Hag is widely publicised as liking him. Would probably cost north of £10m, same issue as Hamer imo. As noted above, there is a reason we are going for loans in 2 key positions, instead of buying.

He gets absolutely nowhere near that Man Utd team. I'd be surprised if he went for that much, be more like £6m. He actually hasn't done that much yet in an inferior league, but the skill set is there.

This is his level currently.

Agree, but a quick google will show he is heavily linked. Feels like it would be a buy to loan out situation though, and United tend to do that less than the other super league clubs.

Who knows. Quoted price in the press is €12m.

Looks raw but decent.

I'm probably wrong in this thought but surely for as long as he's a footballer for Chelsea, he's Chelsea's property & investment.

It might be more scenic, and closer to family, but surely its in the interests of Chelsea to ensure that he goes on loan somewhere he's most likely to develop.

Come to Leicester and get top notch training facilities & develop into the English style of football or go to a nice scenic place, near to family, and get bummed by Juventus & Milan etc etc each week.

Besides the point, I wouldn't want him here knowing we are second choice but still, you'd think Chelsea would have the final say whether he likes it or not?

Typical FT this. He’s been spoken about in reverent terms as if he’s the second coming and now it seems no one will be coming

To me, the delay wasn't the club's fault. Sounds like the player was hoping for a better offer and probably asked his agent to see if a move to Italy was possible, hence the now links to Genoa. If that is the case, we need to move on quickly and I'm hoping there is a plan B. I'd prefer players that are keen to gain experience with us, rather than getting a player that is pushed by their parent club to an option he's not sold on.

First of all, this guy is not Mo Salah.

second, yes that reading team wasn’t good but reports were that he didn’t add much as a CM.  Didn’t create much proactive drive or linkup. Did he try and others not on his wavelength? Maybe but unconfirmed.

did he get POTT in an U20 tournament? Yes

no doubts he’s got potential but is he our saviour? TBD.

All I know is reading fans not convinced

Can you blame him? He did his time in this wretched division last year then tore the U20 World Cup a new one. If he thinks he’s good enough to play in a top league then fair play, we need to move on? :dunno:

Didn’t he score 1 goal for a relegated Reading side? Hardly tore the division of a new one. And plenty of players have had big moves and thought they were better than they are from senior international tournaments let alone U20. Many players who play at U20 level disappear completely.

Compare to Calum Doyle who did a season at League 1 Sunderland, helped them get promoted and then a season at Coventry where they had a great year and nearly went up. He could have decided to be billy big bollocks and think he was too good for this level now but has decided his progression will be benefited by consolidating that and trying to get a promotion under his belt. Importantly he seems to realise that he has plenty of time ahead.

I do agree we need to move on and should have already rather than waiting on someone who doesn’t want to come.

No doubt this is frustrating as it would seem we have invested a significant amour of time and effort to try and secure this player and it’s clearly someone Enzo feels can be a real success here.

Truth is there could be a few things at play here, remember he is a relatively young lad so there could be some home sickness involved, he could have doubts as to whether he is suited to English football and has lost some confidence and wants to be back within Italian football where he feels he can excel.

I still hope he decides we are the best place for his football development but if he doesn’t want to be here and wants to go elsewhere, we’ll like others have said, I think we are best to look at other options who want to play for Leicester City Football Club, because too be honest if the last couple of years have shown anything, it’s that I really do not want anyone involved with our club who isn’t completely invested in the project and 100% committed to the cause.

In centre midfield..? Wasn't my best position pal but if I can lose 3 stone I'm an upgrade on 2022/23 Ndidi!

Close enough, expect a call from Rudkin!!

£15 million and £30k a week seems a no brainer to me to get ‘the best player in the Championship’. Get it done Rudders…get Gus in before he goes elsewhere

This idea of a footballer wanting to play for 'x' club is the biggest myth going in football, 99.9% don't care. Wherever he goes, he's going because for one reason or another, that's what he believes is best for him.

I'd much rather a player come here with the ambition of outgrowing us, rather than us being their final destination. Give me Fofana/Kante/Maguire over Vestergaard/Bertrand/Ward.

If you’d spent a year over here then maybe a year back in a beautiful part of Italy would appeal ??

chelsea probably don’t want him going there because he may decide he doesn’t want to come back to the U.K. !
