Huh!? He's literally foundational to how we play? Him being so comfortable on the ball means we effectively have 5 defenders when in possession - which makes it much easier to build from the back, and crucially much to beat the press from the opposition, letting us exploit the space they create.

My one issue was the flat balls out into the middle of the field. Norwich were onto them and it was putting his teammates under pressure and then of course, one goes straight to McLean and we are saved by the bar. I’d just like him to be more observant in game when that particular ball isn’t on due to the opposition crowing out that area.

One time it nearly cost us a goal. But so many of our attacks/moves came from him. Him + Vestergaard are great at making those line-breaking passes into midfield. 

 

Hermansen found Nacho coming deep with those sorts of passes and it gave us a lot of joy, not least getting Duffy booked. 

 

A lot of our good moves are Hermansen/Vestergaard make a line-breaker into midfield, with Nacho/Vardy coming deep to lay it off to an advancing 8, whilst the wingers bomb on, all whilst the pass and forward has dragged the opposition's back line out of position.

Route one does him a disservice. Implies that he's just booted it aimlessly up front.

 

Reality is here he's spotted McAteer's run on the left back's shoulder and played a pass with the perfect weight so that McAteer can run onto it seamlessly despite him being a good 40 yards away from the destination of the pass at the time Hermansen played it.

 

Guarantee there are midfielders in this league that can't play that pass.

Was sailing the high seas yesterday watching an ESPN stream and my word did he do my head in.

Literally all game Mads is completely in control and composed at the back, making getting around Norwich's press look like childs play but the one time Mads didn't find one of our players and it lead to that Mclean chance he was ripping into him how one could be so careless with the ball and invite pressure on yourself. Not only that but when we were 1-0 up passing it round the back he kept banging on about how we're at risk of not winning the game if we keep on doing that.

A 5 yr old could tell you that you're much less likely to lose a game of football by keeping the ball when you're already up a goal. Such a dinosaur understanding of football.

I guess it comes down to how it looks to us the spectator. We are probably more uncomfortable with the keeper playing out the back than he is. It can be nervous watching. We are still carrying the emotional baggage of last season under Rogers where we lost so many leads late and lost games. Valuable points that could have kept us up. Bedsides it’s natural to just clear the ball when we sense danger. Takes a long time to change that mindset.

Anyway we will adapt I guess and with time we will be more at ease. Look at man city.

All the biggest teams want to play the kind of style we’re playing at the moment and keepers who are this good with their feet alone are hard to find, let alone ones who can do the other bits of keeping as well.

 

I’d put money on him being at a Man City/Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool or someone big in Europe in 5 years’ time.

What shocks me is he's 23! For a keeper that is young to play as well as he has in a foreign league. He's still got 10+ years in him. He will make mistakes due to age, the way we play etc...but he's got so much potential.

Absolutely. Ederson and Allison play exactly the same. Yea, there is enhanced risk of a clanger from either of them, but it’s outweighed by the attacking advantage (otherwise Pep/Klopp would have stopped them doing it years ago).

In 7 League games has Mads proven to be a top signing together with Winks. 

Hes gonna take Premier League with storm next season, with or without Leicester. 

But playing this style with Enzo and having a whole season to adapt, I would expect lcfc to be in the top half after next season in Premier League! 

Hermansen is big dollar and Pep should have an eye at him!

Minus a few, I've rarely seen a keeper so comfortable on the ball. Barely batted an eyelid with 3 closing him down. 

 

I can see him going to a big club.
