3.6 goals prevented after just 6 games is pretty massive. Without Mads, we’d easily be sitting comfortably at the bottom of the league.

Imagine if we were still playing Ward...

I thought he was excellent again yesterday. Not quite as involved as the Arsenal game but made the big saves when needed and always looks so assured on the ball

Not a fan of him coming out to take free kicks on the halfway line though

I thought it was a fair tactic, goalkeeper taking a long free kick. All the opposition players retreated to defend, kristiansen stayed back. Free kick comes in and we have a chance to get the ball in a dangerous position. It looks like the main objective is to either keep the ball, win any second balls from defensive headers. Kristiansen knocks the ball to the opposite wing quickly to stretch the defence. If the opposition don’t have have a quick outlet if they get possession, then we aren’t in a terrible position. It looked like Bournemouth were only thinking defensively for these free kicks but could have changed if we had done more of it, so only doing it the couple of times we did, was I believe a good tactic. If the tactic was to just hoof it goalward and hope something happens, then it’s probably a bit short sighted.

I think of all our players, he may well have the highest ceiling in their respective positions. Very much a modern keeper, can see him ending up at a very big club. Let’s be honest, probably Chelsea!

As long as Chelsea pay a big fee and not get him on the cheap

Wouldn’t go that far.

he has similar level shot stopping abilities with much better distribution, he will never achieve what Kasper did here but that's a different issue

There’s more to goalkeeping than what meets the eye. Organizing the defense, clear communication, attitude - things like that. KS is probably a bit underrated by some in that regard.

Game to game Hermansen is probably as good as or even better than Schmeichel but Schmeichel had some massive moments for us like the Sevilla penalty or the FA cup final. You cant really compare Hermansen or any future goalkeeper we have to Schmeichel until they step up for us when it really matters like Schmeichel did.

Neither would I but at 24 he has the potential to go further than KS did. He'll end up at a very big club.

This is a good point. And I think Schmeichel like Vardy has a lot of what the Americans like to call the 'intangibles'. Great leadership and mental strength in big games. But in terms of ability I think Mads is ahead of him.

This is a goalkeeper who was brought in to primarily play front-footed football in the Championship as well - so he is highly capable of playing both ways.

I'll be surprised if he's here in a year.
