I think he can be one of our best players when he is in the mood and playing in the right system and has the right players around him and has a manager who will put up with him. Otherwise he is a waste of space.

I'd win the F1 if I had the best car, setup the best way, with the best team strategist and a track suiting my skill level. (and all the other drivers were OAP's/children)

Lets not forgive and not forget, rather the team was built around Luke Thomas tbh

You’re making the same point I was trying to make. As per my last sentence, when everything is in his favour he can look good, when the pressure comes on he disappears.

We can't afford to pay him. He'll have to move on

Not that simple, listening to the Fozcast about relegated clubs trying to off load player.

He explains in that scenario the player has all the power and your likely to have to sweeten the deal, by paying up some of their contracts to get rid.

Yeah, I get it. It's definitely not simple. Just saying, he has to go. We can't afford him. We'll have to pay him off, and write off a loss. He'll never play for us again, imo.

I think the club are going all or bust this year, I dont think they care who we can or cant afford, they will find some way of increasing the revenue to mean they can keep who they want to. Probably a few sales.

Yeah maybe, but he won't be staying. He won't play in league one. He'll think that level is below him. It probably is tbf. And he want's to be closer to his home. He'll engineer a move and the club will help him go too.

I can see Martin convincing him of the project, Enzo style but I guess time will tell. Id rather him and all the other dead wood be chopped, I just get the feeling the club are doubling down on their decisions with no consideration of if it doesn't work.

Surely West Ham will be stupid enough to take him

Absolutely no logical reason why they would

Contract triggered a one year extension when we were promoted

He should be exempt from SCMP  (3 years deal before 2025) and was on 40k to 45k and it will be cut even further

Get him gone any means necessary.

Trouble being that he's the kind of player that sits perfectly in Martin's possession-based system.

Given his record of falling out with managers and not exactly setting the Championship on fire, what club in their right mind would take him?

Could see him at Watford

Anyone willing to give this melt another chance just because BTEC Brendan is here can, in the nicest possible terms, take a long walk off Skegness Pier.

Again I would just like to remind people that for the past 18 months Winks agent has been working tirelessly to get him away for the club and no one wants him.

We are stuck with him until his contract ends.

If you get angry that Winks is still here, just remember Coady was probably on the same terms and got an additional year extension after we got promored so not only did we likely subsidise his wages last season but will also this season too.

Winks was reported as 60 risking to 90k with promotion and Coady 50k. Still hideous wages to be handing out for the Championship and to give a player like Coady an extension when he didn't even play that often in the league below.

I sit in a dark room every night and think about every aspect of this decline. I can't remember the last time I bothered to heat up baked beans. Straight from the tin on the floor. Wife left me, took the kids. Still, least we have Martin.

I read the second paragraph in Mike Skinner's voice.

Tbf it isn’t any of the players on stupid contracts fault, if someone offers more pay you take it. The issue here is that Jon Rudkin is a prize twat of the highest order, and still in place making football decisions.
