The position we're after is bloody difficult to find though. LB that can kick on, but also play as a CB and be good on the ball and in distribution

Why would Chilwell come back after the toxic treatment he got from the stands?

 

I remember a game against Southampton when he made a mistake, the crowd got on to him and destroyed his confidence.

more the fact we already have 2 prem loans and you're only allowed 2, Edouard going back would make sense but we may not have that option unless Palace agree

I thought Buonanotte didn't count because of his age and doesn't need to be included in the 25 man squad. I may be wrong though.

counts as a loan but didn't need to be registered in the 25

Famously Rodgers hung him out to dry as he had to cope with Mahrez and De Bruyne on his own, as obvs Barnes doesn't help out defending. Then a couple of games later he had Salah and TAA to deal with on his own. 

 

Guess who the crowd blamed and barracked? Rodgers? Or Chilly?.... yup, you got it.

I never got the hate for Chilwell. He may have come across as a bit cocky but he was a young player and he was more or less disliked from the start. 

 

What has subsequently happened with the FA Cup Final and Chelsea's visit in 2023, when he got pelters, means even a loan (as we couldn't afford his wages in any case) is extremely unlikely.

He really wasn't. Don't think he's been great this season but he kept Hutchinson really quiet today

Amazing how people see games so differently. I had him down as one of our best performers, low bar admittedly. Hutchinson got no change out of him all day. Distribution needs tidying up but defensively I'm more comfortable with him than JJ currently.

Yup much much better than JJ
