Glad he's back. I know he's not the best rounded player, he's not especially quick or strong or defensively astute but he makes the play brilliantly from LCB. I think he can be coached into a solid Premier League player with that capability.

Have you seen him play before he came to us?  I'm not sure as a leicester player we've seen anywhere near enough of him to appraise his overall game.

The games he played were so early into maresca's tenure that the team was playing nowhere near the standard it is now and were far more limited tactically - so to judge him purely on those games is unfair.   And even then, for a player who is supposedly not 'defensively astute' in those first ten and a half games he played for us we only conceded 5 goals including cardiff's worldy and hull's deflected fluke - seems pretty solid to me.

Further more, I believe he'll go straight back into the first XI - as good as justin was in the last two games that was playing on the right, doyle is a better left sided player.  Any shortcomings in his game, as you say, can be coached out - he's only 20 after all!

Totally agree on Doyle. The cross field pass and first time passes down the left- hand touchline are now on, along with the over/underlap. We haven't had these routes open to us for 16games and it's credit to Faes, Justin, Ricardo, Choudhury that they've filled the gap so well.

Strongest side now (in absence of Ndidi and Daka) is:

Hermansen

Ricardo/Justin Faes Vestergaard Doyle

Winks

Akgun KDH

Fatawau Cannon Mavididi

Casadei, Choudhury, Vardy, Iheanacho (assuming short injury rules out Afcon), Albrighton, Coady, McAteer will push them but that's January's team for me.

Is there any chance that Man City will sell Doyle this Summer ? They seem to have an abundance of quality young players who they don't mind selling every summer.

Selling youth players is very good for FFP, pure profit.

Yes .. Chelsea  & Man C will need to sell a few this Summer. I would love to see the Doyle loan made permanent.

Doesn’t get into our best 3 imo, Justin Vestergaard and Faes should be playing unless injured/suspended for me

I think it will come down to Doyle/vestergaard and either faes or justin.

Justin wasn't good enough on the left and had a couple of really poor games - after which maresca started playing faes on the left.  He has said all along that he wants a left footed player on the left and justin never really looked comfortable there.

He does however look much better playing on the right and with faes having some sloppy moments, i think that's going to be an interesting battle.

Ricardo is light years ahead of justin for that inverted role, even hamza is ahead of him.  otherwise, yes.

True. But you can't coach lack of pace though.

Well, again, i haven't seen enough to criticise him in that respect - it's not like he'd had a massive pre-season.

Besides - vestergaard isn't quick and it's not a problem.  Pace isn't everything these days, and even players with pace still get caught out.

There was a suggestion on here that we were planning to buy him during the last window but it wouldn't have been doable in time (or some such issue) so it was agreed we'd just loan him for now - he's clearly an enzo player.

Basically.. Bad defender, slow and weak but good passer then you go on to say think he will be solid premier league player…make ya mind up! 😜 🤣

Looked to tweak something when he tried a 30 yard thunder cvnt towards the end of the game on Monday… hopefully nothing in it but I was worried it was his knee again
