If you look at the stats you’ll see that we have started very strongly this term.

Today, we had 17 shots in total, with 6 on target and had approx 40% of possession. This is good for an away game.

Yes, they missed an absolute sitter but as soon as we scored, they didn’t look like replying.

As much as we look good going forward, I’m as pleased that we seem to have tidied up the defence. Faes was excellent today and I really like the look of young Doyle.

In the Championship, todays game was a potential banana skin. We came through it with all three points and didn’t really struggle too much imo.

On a day where Southampton lost at home, Birmingham beat Leeds and Middlesbrough got thrashed by the Cov scum, coming going to Huddersfield and collecting all three points indicates a pretty solid side who aren’t easy to beat.

And again, this is far more enjoyable than it was last season in the top flight.

Game of opinions I guess but I think he's looked quite clumsy on the ball. I also thought Warnock targeted him in the air today and he didn't win too many headers. Still early days though

He’s making his mistakes and learning experience on our time but that’s the nature of loaning youngsters. Good to see confidence in a young player. His headed clearances weren’t great and that pass into midfield could’ve been worse.  He’s not getting caught out of position though which is encouraging and Stephy is helping out.

I'm sorry the Premier League is bang average, certainly the bottom half, it was last season (And we got relegated!!) and even more so this season, i'd go as far as saying the Championship is tougher.

(I said this the other week i'm sure this'll come across to some people as still being bitter about our relegation but I said it even when we were in the Premier League - i'm not, i'm quite enjoying the Championship and being out of the PL again and it's not just down to winning games, I said the other week even we were winning and somewhat successful under Rodgers I didn't really, truthfully enjoy it)

I fully agree with @Foxin_Mad

Statistics say otherwise. If we gave up the chances we have in the last two games, we’d have lost and conceded five or six.

Teams in the championship don’t finish chances with the same ability as the Premier League

Those stats are not correct. We had 17 shots and 69% possession.

Where are you getting your stats from? lol

Pretty abject performance but I think that's a good sign. We played really nice stuff for 30 mins against Burton but have been honking for most of the 2 league games yet we're out the other side with 6 points. Defence is worryingly open but when it clicks going forward, we could blow teams out of the water. Some nice patterns/themes emerging.

Apologies, 17 shots 6 on target

😊

The point remains. These are excellent figures for an away game

Quite a few people saying we need 4 or 5 players - and I agree. The trouble is finding those players who will be better than most in the Championship, but not so good that they have a PL option.

I can’t see us signing that many players and, if we did, I can’t see them being the right quality. Admittedly it’s a miserable opinion, but I feel we may need to hope our squad has just enough to challenge when the window shuts. As I doubt we’ll do the sort of business that will make this season easy

I agree with this. The chances we've given up against Cov and Huddersfield would've been punished in the prem

tbf i think vestergaard had a pretty decent game bar the yellow card

apart from his distribution which was shocking, I still think Souttar is a better player and can only think he's annoyed someone at the club

Enjoy it kids.

Last season we were having games where we’d literally have a single shot on target.

Some games… none at all

I think it looks like Enzo knows what he’s doing.

Did you actually watch the game btw?

I don’t think we ever looked like losing it.

Absolutely agree, but don't forget that Praet also missed a sitter and had more time to control and place the ball. As you say though it's already far more enjoyable than last season

I think a lot of us are still in mourning (including me). Would be easier if we had 2/3 seasons of hanging on, but only seems like yesterday we were a European regulars.

It takes some adjusting when judging our quality now because we're playing in a lower league against lesser quality

The guy is a good manager and has proven it on multiple occasions.

Put yourself in his shoes for this game. A lot of teams will just sit back and pray. They gave it a go and competed for large periods. He is a twat, but one that deserves respect.

Couldn't agree more

Got the 3 points which is what really matters but against very weak opposition. The upcoming away games at Soton and Norwich will be the real tests of where are and our promotion credentials.

I’m afraid a lot of fans, just not thinking, were bigging up too many of our players (like Thomas, Amartey, Tete and Soumare) when it was blatantly clear they were nowhere near Premiership standard players.

The club got run into the ground by a management (and fan base) who felt that we had no chance of being relegated.

The chickens came home to roost and down we plunged.

Now we just have to hope that the rebuild brings dividends. So far, I suggest we are looking a strong squad at this level.

So basically, separate last season (long gone) from this and watch how we are doing NOW.
The stats suggest that Enzo has a good idea what he’s trying to do. But there will be pitfalls along the way…. It’s a tough division to get out of.

if we was a bit more clinical up front we would have been 2-0 up at HT which made it harder work trying to get the goal, great work from Madividi.

We also look much fitter than teams we have faced this season, which considering our pre season is a bit of a surprise, we will score a lot in the second half of games I think.
