given his age i think he has every chance of becoming a PL level player - or of course he may not !

 

but if we lose mads, i wouldn't mind him being in the championship as no.1

I thought he should have done better with Palace's first goal. I was behind the goal & thought he should have smothered the ball before Mateta got to it , he was slow to react. But on the whole he's done well enough.

A lot of ignorance, not to mention impatience in this thread.  Jakub is the least of our worries.  He is very highly rated at the club, a bit of a prodigy.  Don't write him off, he still has to develop, he's not the finished article so don't judge him as such and he's playing in an awful team behind a comedy defence.  He will become a quality keeper and well worth persevering with.

None of Stolarkzyk, Ward and Iversen are what you’d ideally want as a number one goalkeeper at Premier League level. I think he’ll get better, however the difference between Hermansen and the other three is significant. 
 

The stats actually have Stolarkzyk worse per 90 than Ward was in 22/23. Now the eye test may tell a different story but he’s not the saviour we need right now. Hermansen is.

If I understand the table right, Ward is letting in an average of over two goals a game more than he should be.  That is beyond horrific.

Yes, albeit a very small sample size as he’s played minimal games this season. 
 

Interesting that we all call him out (me included) for the part he played in our relegation, however the stats have him better than Stolarkzyk this season.

Ward had a decent mini run in autumn 2022 which probably help his numbers. And I know these stats are obviously supposed to be quite objective and reflect the GKs performance not the whole team's, but Stolarczyk has come into the most dysfunctional team you can possibly imagine at a really difficult time of the season which hasn't helped him at all.
