When you’re getting this many ACL injuries you need to start looking at the fundamentals, match pitch, training pitches, training itself and the machines used for leg strengthening in particular. It’s not good enough to brush it off as bad luck, it’s not.

Both impact injuries in contact with another player, not sure there is a lot you can do about that.

Feel horrible for Jakub, can only fear the worst for him unfortunately after how he reacted and the way he went down. Poor lad 😢

You can’t start giving post match punishments because of the unfortunate outcome of a nothing challenge

otherwise the game will become non contact

it was the kind of foul you see almost every game early on.
just terrible luck for player and club. (And the fans that have to watch MacArthy for the rest of the season)

The Plymouth guy decided he would put one on Stolarczyk to send a message.

Every team in this league will try to bully us off the park.

A referee of any quality would have issued a card for that challenge.

And BDCR having a giggle with the perp afterwards, as caught on camera, was NOT a good look.. 😠

I’m not saying it wasn’t. But we didn’t get these sorts of injuries in these sorts of numbers back in the day did we?  So there is something at play here which should be looked into.

Feel for the lad but hopefully we’ve seen the last of him in a Leicester shirt.

New number 1 needed next season 🤞

Kisnorbo and Tunchev were close together I think

I'm not sure how much accuracy there is to this but I've seen online we're considering a move for Banter Ben Hamer to fill in this year - he's unattached.

Tragedy then farce.

As expected, an ACL injury has ended his season.

Surprised we even paid for the scan. You could tell by his reaction the second it happened how bad it was.

Hoping for a good recovery Jakub.

16 injury events involving 15 Leicester players between 2000 and 2026.

The 15 players are:

  4. Aleksandar Tunchev — 2009
  5. Darius Vassell — 2011
  6. Richie Wellens — 2012
  7. Zoumana Bakayogo — 2014 (two knee/ACL episodes)
  8. Ryan Watson — 2014
  9. Matty James — 2015
  10. Bartosz Kapustka — 2019
  11. Ricardo Pereira — 2020
  12. James Justin — 2021

I have completely no recollection of Ryan Watson at all. Who was/is he?!

Yeah but unfortunately you need a scan to determine severity etc.

Nonsense. Isn't he a builder/bricklayer nowadays?

I think you are getting confused with Drinkwater.

Hamer is without a club so would probably jump at the chance to earn some easy money sat on the bench behind McCarthy.

Hope Stolarczyk has a speedy recovery.  He's got age on his side. By all accounts, a lovely chap so it's a real shame.

That Plymouth player knew what he was doing, too.

Had knee surgery in Summer 2026 - i'm sure he probably feels terrible now - and sure, he didnt mean to injure him, but no need to do it 10 seconds in.

A bit like a 'receipt' in wrestling. He wanted to let Jakub know he was there and send him a message early.

This is a really weird post. Jakub has been dodgy but never a bad egg or absolutely awful. He was just starting to make it look like he was getting a fresh start, one he deserves compared to others still in this squad.

You might think he hasn't been up to standards -  fair enough, But if you don't think he is at the very least a top end of League 1 goalkeeper you need a reality check of where we are.
