And we need Prem quality to get out of it and to stay out of it. We don’t want to sign players long term who won’t cut it if we get promoted.

Sometimes you can't tell.

In our first season in the PL Vardy and Mahrez don't look like they could cut it in the first 6 months.

The season afterwards they were world beaters!

It's just possible, just, that this window could be Rudkin's finest hour! 🤔😬🤣

Right. You’re talking shit now. Mind you he doesn’t have a very high bar. 😀

People seem to forget these days it takes players time to adapt. It's very unlikely players are just going to drop straight in and be amazing, they need at least 6-12 month to reach full potential. Its very hard to judge us or players at present as everything is new. The results have been better than the performances, the mentality and fitness is good. I believe Maresca when he says we are 20% done, which makes seeing the remaining 80% exciting. It's possible we may see rancid stuff at times whilst we find ourselves, currently we are getting away with it, we won't always. I still feel until we play a top side It's difficult to judge where we are.

This is the thing about relegation (thanks Top).

If you get back up you are starting from square one. Cannon fodder.

Hopefully we can emulate the mighty Brentford!

I don't think we will be back to square one.

Sadly, I foresee no more action on the transfer market this window, not even a loan.

How's your doom & gloom prediction holding up ???

Not looking so good if I'm honest...but it made Rudkin get his finger out.

I hope I'm wrong but knowing Rudkin suspect we'll end the window with one player too many and have to leave someone (One of Ward, Iversen, Daka and Souttar) unregistered

Not necessarily. If it wasn't for Mike Ashley not spending any money and the appointment of Steve Bruce, Newcastle would have been a lot higher in the table than they were after the game back up, pre the Saudi take over obviously, and they had some respectable finishes.

I refuse to get excited or try to predict what will happen between now and deadline day, but like the mug that I am, I'll probably stay up until it closes watching sky sports News and constantly refreshing foxestalk lol

Soumare and Daka are almost certainly gone, we'll probably ship both out on loan to whoever will take them if we don't get any suitable permanent offers. We'll also probably try and hold our for top dollar for Kel and Ndidi.

If Kel does go, you'd like to think we have someone else lined up which would move very quickly (it needs to)

If I were choosing I'd still want another CB, CM in the pivot mould, and if Ndidi does go another one, a striker and another winger. At least Praet, Daka and Soumare gone.

Only another 77ish hours to go
