I'll have what you're smoking

I think it's obvious that we lack depth on the bench so 2 for the bench and a starting RW.

As for outgoings it's clear which players are surplus to requirements so I don't believe it's too unrealistic.

If we don't get rid of the surplus then it's another window where questions need to be asked of Rudkin and the board.

Few others have mentioned it's going to be difficult to reintegrate players after being frozen out of match day squads.

I don't doubt for one moment that we have 3 or 4 targets we want to bring in. I don't doubt for one moment that we've around 6 that we're willing to let go.

I'm just having a hard time believing it'll actually happen at this point. Certainly predicting all six out seems very optimistic!

It's just not in keeping with our historical trends at all.

2 in, 3 out perhaps.

Also I hope Braybrooke and Alves will come into the first team squad when got. Braybrooke could be the Winks back up if we don't manage to bring in another midfielder.

Right now the concern has to be players out the door.

Castagne, Daka, Soumare, Souttar, Ward, Iversen, - I’d hate to thing what those 6 are earning between them a week without a sniff of first team action.
They all need to be gone asap

One loan winger and that'll be it I reckon. Just can't see Rudkin moving enough of the deadwood on in time.

Sadly, I foresee no more action on the transfer market this window, not even a loan.

I feel that your glass is always half empty.

I think there will be lots of movement still, especially outgoing!

Lots of clubs like to do their business at the end of the window thinking that there will be deals available.

And sometimes 14 seconds after it has closed.

Others have highlighted this, but when you think of the wages they’re on you can pretty much rule out selling any of them to a Championship club, or even most top-tier clubs in European leagues.

So that leaves you with a PL club, a really good European club, maybe a Saudi club as potential buyers.

To be honest I think we’ll struggle to get rid of more than 1 or 2, and even that might be a stretch.

We need 3 but think we will get 2 in. Hopefully 3 or 4 out, but hopeful I'm not.

Not a chance mate. None. Who would pay their wages, let alone offer a decent transfer fee?

Love hearing Maresca in that interview say it would be a big mistake by the club to think the squad is good enough and that we need at least 3 and maybe more if others leave - he is making it crystal clear in every interview what he needs to be successful- the club need to listen and listen quickly - get the players in and stop messing about rudkin

Will iversen be on that much? No doubt Brendan sorted out ward, and the rest will be on prem wages but I can't see iversen being on big money?

It's becoming very fascinating this is.

I'm trying to figure out what we need if Kristiansen, Thomas, Castagne, Souttar, Ndidi, Praet, Soumare, Daka, Iheanacho leave. Hopefully Iversen and Ward too but neither need to be replaced.

Surely if we lose 3 full backs we need someone who can play there, that leaves us with just Ricardo and Justin and then Doyle.

If all of the above leave then I think we get a versatile CB, CM (possibly 2?), LW, RW and CF

There’s a good chance N’didi, Faes and Nacho will all receive offers this week (N’didi already in motion if we believe what we read) especially as clubs start to get desperate after missing out on their tier 1 targets.

We could expect more incomings that originally predicted if the likes of the above all leave

As it stands Akgun in, Lisbon winger on the verge, TBH expected and 1 more minimum depending on outgoings.

Kristensen waiting to be announced, Castagne, Ndidi and Thomas all on the verge.

So could we see more than 6 leave? Praet, Soumare, Souttar, Iversen and Daka all out in the cold.

Mentions of Faes and Nacho also being of interest of clubs, I said in another thread about us loosing players who are active in the first team.

Strap in folks it's going to be a rollercoaster of a week.

Fwiw I won't be answering questions or quotes.

Is Praet really out in the cold or does he just genuinely have a knock?

We need a replacement for any midfielder that leaves, IMO. Ndidi out for 15 makes sense, he doesn't fit Maresca's tactics at all. Praet does, though, and Maresca does seem to value him. KDH, Praet, Casadei and new player gives us 4. Healthy. If we sell Praet as well and go down to just Casadei, KDH and a new guy? Bit of a stretch for me. Appreciate we have Braybrooke and Alves on the horizon but they still might not really be properly ready til after Christmas, might not actually be good enough and might never recover from their injuries.

While It won’t all happen 8 could leave

Kristianson, Soumane, Thomas, Soultar and Iverson loaned out

Castagne, Daka possibly Ndiddi sold

Ward stays for his testimonial…
