2 in, 3 out perhaps.

Also I hope Braybrooke and Alves will come into the first team squad when got. Braybrooke could be the Winks back up if we don't manage to bring in another midfielder.

I have also this idea and wish…but these 2 promised potential players, might by their return lost any sight of that potential..

Two more academy players reaching desired potential

would lift club and terrasses tremendously.

These 2, KDH,Wanya,McAteer,Sta‘ski,Nelson,Choudhury \\

Justin ( Kristiansen),Mavididi,

a decent group of young players to form our Bbone of players going forward to higher things…plus the remainers old & new investments forming the key experience to the squad…

As it stands Akgun in, Lisbon winger on the verge, TBH expected and 1 more minimum depending on outgoings.

Kristensen waiting to be announced, Castagne, Ndidi and Thomas all on the verge.

So could we see more than 6 leave? Praet, Soumare, Souttar, Iversen and Daka all out in the cold.

Mentions of Faes and Nacho also being of interest of clubs, I said in another thread about us loosing players who are active in the first team.

Strap in folks it's going to be a rollercoaster of a week.

Fwiw I won't be answering questions or quotes.

Why not?

He said previously that he’s been told he cannot post insider info here unless he reveals his source, presumably he meant reveal the source to the operator of FT, who I imagine gets contact/pressure from the club regarding these leaks.

Would like to see Brownhill in from Burnley, very versatile.

Not going to be much use if we get promoted.

Players in;

Issahaku.

THB.

A striker aswell if we lose Daka or Nacho.

Players out;

Wilf.

Castagne.

Daka.

Soumare (loan).

Thomas.

Iversen.

Wanya (loan).

Kristiansen.

That's what I'd like to see happen.

So unless I've missed anyone, I see the depth chart at the start of the last week of the window as looking like this, essentially:

image.png.9ff0d50332456c7835f41a711058e36d.png

* short term injuries

** don't need to be registered

*** transfer pending

Any major objections to that? That leaves us currently 21 senior players that need to be registered. Currently, we could register 4 from the discard pile if they aren't sold. We are not in a financial position to pay Soumare, Souttar or Daka to simply sit in the U23s. Reminder that loans need to be registered regardless of whether or not they're under 21. If we DO sign THB permanently, he turned 21 in January which means according to the EFL Handbook he wouldn't need to be registered, even as a new signing. That means we could replace Castagne with him and STILL have room for 4 more. You have to assume one of the four will be a third striker, be it Daka or a replacement. Another will be one of Soumare, Ndidi or a replacement (Chair?) depending on how deals go this week.

That would leave us with 2 squad registration places available. The glaring holes in the squad would be a left footed "mezzala" and a left footed "Backup Doyle."

We have one space left for a loan in the matchday squad, although we can technically have 4 more registered.

We have no problems meeting the quota for home grown players (minimum 8.)

Looking at that, a couple of injuries and we are looking short.

Surely it would be worth keeping Daka and Souttar

I'm extremely confident that a CB is coming in imminently and that Daka would be replaced if he goes.

Be really surprised if not tbh.

My only objection is that you've used gold for the heading fill colour, and not blue.

An absolute disgrace.

PS. We need more centre-backs.

Praet out on the cold? He's injured. Enzo appears to be a big fan

I made an updated version of this (see the 23/24 squad thread) with Nelson included, on request.

But IMO he's not really likely to get a lot of minutes beyond a serious injury crisis.

These 8 leave in one way or another 100%- probably sell 2 and loan 6

Iverson

Kristianson

Thomas

Castagne

Souttar

Soumare

Ndidi

Daka

5 more in- CB, CM, 2 wings, Forward

Going to be a crazy few days considering how tight lipped the club are about targets at the minute

I’ll go with 5 too.

1 CB

1 LB/CB

1 CM

1 WG

1 ST

Fatawu looks a certain. Harwood-Bellis is probable, especially if Souttar leaves. Surely Kristiansen & Thomas get replaced if they leave, we can’t just have Doyle as a LB. A centre mid would be needed if Ndidi leaves, unless Maresca is considering converting McAteer to a ‘8’. Then a striker if Nacho or Daka leave.

We are in the championship.

And we need Prem quality to get out of it and to stay out of it. We don’t want to sign players long term who won’t cut it if we get promoted.
