Watching the highlights , for there goal, from the second angle there is no way Vesty is getting his head on that. I initially thought it was right above his head.

If you watch this back again, you'll see Kasey McAteer is involved in so much of our good play. Take the goals out of it, he could still have been MOTM. I can see why Maresca was gushing about him afterwards. Could be his breakout season!

Was getting slated a couple of weeks ago on here. I think he has been solid so far and looks as though he will grow in confidence with more game time.

It's almost a shame we are signing all these wingers as him and marcal have shown they are capable of playing at this level.

He could have still jumped though (maybe not) to distract or interfere with the line of sight of their goal scorer

I love the way two of our lot got booked at the end for time wasting. That mentality has been absent from our club for so long. Fvck being "likeable" and "sportsmanlike". Win at all costs.

I wanted Hermansen to carry on messing around after his yellow, because we all know the ref wouldn't give him a red after that.

Totally. We paused it at the point it is going over Vesty's head and there is no way he could have headed that ball away. There is a question as to whether if he had jumped it might have distracted the striker in some way but I think the fault lays more with Doyle (who otherwise did very well) for allowing the striker to get in front of him.

I'm not sure that Marcal and McAteer are out and out wingers to be honest. McAteer especially looks like he could do a job more centrally.

Fair play to these kind of sides giving us a good game though. With the obvious differences in budgets we're probably seen as a bit of a free hit for these sides yet they've only come undone by a late goal. It's admirable and shows the importance of working hard and as a team

I agree. Would like to see Rotherham stay up. Thought they tried to play a bit of football and their stadium whilst small looked excellent.

Getting in the refs ear alot more this year aswell.

Yeah I listened to that too :D

I had no problem with it.

The gap in finances and uneven playing field is something we’ve experienced in the PL, so I fully understand their frustrations.

Despite this, I thought they did well in spells and maybe deserved a draw overall.

Don’t get me wrong I thought they played well… also have no issue with folk mentioning the disparity in wages/value…. But not every time the oppo touches the ball lol

It seems crazy to pick faults after the lads bagged 2 goals but a bit like Marcal I feel they tend to opt for a safe pass over taking on their man plus when it comes to final ball their end product is lacking (understandable as they’re just kids breaking though) I have no doubt he’ll play his part this season and I hope I end up eating my own words but I am excited to see potentially more quality coming in on the right in Akgun

Their right back absolutely dominated him today. I've liked what I've seen from Mavididi, but I thought he was really poor today. Still think he'll prove a decent signing.

...much the same against Coventry!!!

As soon as Coventry substituted their defender, he started to have more success. He seems easily contained and end product needs to be looked at.

Rotherham are short of depth and as soon as their subs came on, they were going to struggle to be as effective.

Our conditioning despite what appeared  to be a poor ish pre-season,  will be a factor this season.

I can't work out if we've scraped past poor teams and will get found out against better ones or we've managed to win whilst we are developing and will get better. If its the latter then it's something to look forward to.

Enzo's style won't blow teams away, and it's going to need a lot of patience. Especially from fans.

So far so good but there are still plenty of questions.

I dont agree regards Marcal. Don't think he's anywhere near good enough yet and desperately needs a loan out.

He took his goal very, very well the other day but it was a loose ball from a set piece that he swung his leg at.

His actual contributions to open play are miles off the standard we need.

McAteer I think looks absolutely good enough to be a rotation option / backup and I think Mavididi, Akgun, McAteer and AFI will be our four and I'm happy with that.

But that RW slot is probably one of the most important spots on the pitch and we really are crying out for someone that can beat their man and get in some great cut backs and crosses. Neither of the two kids we've had our there have really been doing that. Think Akgun will.

"Why didn't you shoot first time!?"

"Oh wait..." :scarf:

sorry if someone else has already pointed out (haven’t read whole thread!) - look at the role Casadei plays in the goal… makes a great run and drags left back across leaving space for Kasey. If LB stays the goal doesn’t happen. See what Enzo means now about his runs into the box

Ignore me - someone says it about three posts down from original post! 🤦‍♂️

The games against Southampton and Norwich will show which one we are.

He would have. All eyes are on him after being dropped from the premier league (a punishment that is just ridiculous by the way) so he'd have been under some scrutiny to not make another mistake

Don’t know if anyone else watched it but I watched the game yesterday with the Rotherham commentary and the co commentator (think it was John Breckin) was many pound notes obsessed beyond Dyche levels! Every time 1 of our players had the ball it would be 25m Iheanacho to 10m Mavididi to 10m Winks… after they bagged it was look at the face of 25m Iheanacho as he’s taking kick off… finished off the game with 250m Leicester city scrape past little Rotherham lol the guy was relentless

Did he say how much the player that scored both goals cost?

We’re yet to get going. The basics are there but we haven’t clicked just yet. When Coady is back in, Casadei is up to speed and our wings have more options we’ll be flying.

Promising to see we’re winning without playing well

Course he didn’t… also no mention of Vardys price when he came on lol
