There is no getting away from the fact we've been lucky to win each game. Cov murdered us 2nd half and missed 3 clear chances. Huddersfield missed an open goal, and our goal was a keeping error. Cardiff missed two one on ones before we scored a late winner. On Saturday we were very fortunate to see Rotherhams early goal disallowed, although granted, it's probably the only game out of the 4 we deserved to win and last 20 mins our pressure told. But that opposition have conceded 10 to Stoke in 2 games. Seeing some of Hulls highlights from this season so far they wil cause us problems.

There's obvious cause for optimism. We are playing with an actual style and plan and implementing young players, new players, and of course it wil take time. And to win all your games at any level isn't easy. But there's got to be improvement as we can't expect to get away with those missed chances from opposing teams every week, plus the likes of Southampton and Norwich will almost certainly beat us if we don't raise our performance level.

Reading between the lines, we just need to trust the process, never know what curveballs or surprises might come out of this season.

Will probably need a sit down at the end of it.

Amazing what happens when you have a style and clear plan that seems to be unanimously bought into by all.

This is the biggest improvement for me. It's night and day in terms of enjoyment in supporting the club for me.

I think living on the other side of the pond has thrown off your sarcasm detector!

I'm fully onboard the Enzo bus, and very encouraged with how this season has gone, but you can't compare the excitement I felt in that away at end Stamford Bridge when Collymore put that 2nd away to winning away at Burton, Huddersfield, Rotherham & Tranmere. I get you can only beat what is put in front of you, but quality of opposition should be factored in when using words such as greatest ever.

You are still  misunderstanding the point!

know one is talking about anything other than statistics, not excitement, not quality of opponents but how we are doing something that we have never done before - won our first 6 games.

It has not always been pretty, but apart from Coventry, I do think on balance we deserved to win each match - even if we only edge each one. Impressive for such an early stage but much to improve still!

There's only two teams in the country that still have a 100% record.

Leicester CIty .and Manchester City.

The system and formation clearly works and we need to trust Maresca with his decision making. If he decides yesterdays Donkey is todays stallion ( Jannik) then we just need to get behind the lad and encourage him . Simple as.

One, Man City lost the Charity Shield

Doesnt that count as a friendly?

A friendly is a game arranged between two teams.

The Charity Shield requires qualification.

The most astonishing thing about this, in my opinion, is that we’ve been a bit ordinary in many of the games. We haven’t hit any great heights and we’ve been lucky too. That’s actually a good thing. We’ve not had a lot of luck recently.

I hope it keeps going and when Enzo ball finally clicks into place, always supposing that it does, then I can see us being quite the terrifying prospect for any championship side to face.

Dude - I know people are talking about empirical results and not other stuff - I'm saying maybe they should be... By this definition, our greatest season was 2013/14 when we had 102 points, but oddly enough, most people would think it was a season a couple of years later when we only got 81 points :dunno:

Almost like Rodgers was trying to get the chop long before it happened…

I think we give him far too much credit, like he could have kept us up because he is an elite manager but chose for us to be bloody useless for some reason.

The beauty of what Maresca is building is that it doesn't just look like a team that will get promoted and then have to be rebuilt again once that goal is achieved; it looks like a team that is full of young players who will only get better with experience, mature together and have a real consistent identity.

We'll need to do a deal of business next summer if we do go up, but I actually have faith based on this window that that will be done exceedingly well.

A lot of us were licking our lips about the possibility of Potter coming and really building a project with a long-term outlook, but it looks as though we have exactly that with even more attractive football. I'm excited to see what happens.

Personally I was dead against Potter. The last thing we needed was more possession for possession's sake.

We needed a fresh new identity. So pleased we went this route.

People will say we haven't played anyone good yet, but we still have players to come into the 11 with more time to bed in, too.

The opposition will get better, but so will we.

Easy to draw a couple of the games we've played as well. Winning is a great habit to form.

Sorry to be negative but I really don't think it's all that impressive. 5 of those 6 games have been against very poor sides. It genuinely wouldn't be surprising if Huddersfield, Cardiff and Rotherham were to be relegated. I know you can only beat what's in front of you but we really should be beating these sides and we are doing so unconvincingly. That's absolutely fine for the time being but come mid-October, I really want to see us hitting our stride.

I think we might actually start to see better performances against some of the better sides :fc:

Southampton will try to pass through us and might leave gaps we can exploit. Leeds are still so erratic, our precise forward passing should find a lot of joy against them in theory. It'll be absolutely fascinating to watch.

The momentum is important. We've played some poor sides, but won the games we could easily have drawn. The players left over from last season are therefore rebuilding their confidence and mentality, and the players who've come in are growing accustomed to winning in a Leicester shirt.

If we get a result on Saturday, we go into the international break with a settled squad and a 100% record with the best part of a fortnight to prepare for a trip to a Southampton side who are likely to be among our main competition.

I'm going to need a sedative. Too used to the dreary Brendan-ball.
