If Sheffield Wednesday /Middlesbrough came calling albeit they are in the dogs right now, he would probably jump in a heart beat to manage them. Bristol City aren't a huge club but they are a project type club.

He played for Boro didn't he? So that would be a pull for him I'd imagine.

I simply love this man. I don't know what else I can say that hasn't already been said but the guy is one of the biggest legends of the clubs. It still baffles me that there's Leicester fans that don't like him.

I have to agree.

Even if I tried I wouldn't be able to dislike the bloke.

I wonder in time if he'll get the full legendary status he deserves with us?

He played, and was successful, for both Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday but he isn't the type of man to go back and potentially ruin what he had there. I'm sure he's said it before himself. He has been linked with both Middlesbrough and Wednesday time and time again without anything ever happening.

Have never and will probably never again listen to a half-hour pre-match prezzer from an opposition manager but just had this on all the way through. I could listen to Big Nige for hours. This man deserves supreme respect from everyone at Leiceter City Football Club. A prince amongst men.

I’m sure he definitely said specifically about not wanting to be based back in Sheffield re the Wednesday job before. Not sure if it’s something specifically about their supporters! Not sure if he has said similar about Middlesbrough or not to be fair.

He's not changed, from their forum...

"Whilst it's not been easy here, the majority have shown patient because we can see what Nige is doing. The difference is night and day. Our club has never been so well run and professional on the footballing side as it is under Nige.

Bizarrely other clubs fans expected Nige to install a culture, work ethic etc etc etc over night here. That kinda proves my point that there are very few clubs where Nige could undertake a project.

What Nige has done here, kinda has that Sir Alex Ferguson feel to it. He's big on having the right players, the right culture, the right values with a good blend of youth and experience. At Man Utd Sir Alex Ferguson allowed players such as Keane etc to drive the culture and standards and that's very much like what Pearson is doing here (at a lower level of course)

Whilst there is still a way to go, I kind of get the feeling that from a Bristol City perspective, something very special is about to happen.

He came back to us, after a great League One campaign and then massively over achieving in the Championship the following year. Although can't see him going to either of them anyway

"Unfinished business" he called it regarding his return here, which is true with how he ended up leaving.

There's nothing unfinished about his time at either Middlesbrough or Sheffield Wednesday, he captained them both to great success.

Played about 20 games over his final two years at Wednesday, hardly ended on a high for him there.

Might sound a bit OTT but I think there's a fair chance that Nigel might be the second coming of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Peace be upon him.

I saw the Turin Shroud once. I swear I saw his face when I looked at it.

To add some balance, peoplw do also seem to forget the long spells of awful football, where let’s be honest, if he’d have been sacked, most wouldn’t have questioned the decision.

We should never have been near the bottom of the league in 14/15 for so long really, or that collapse which led to Deeney day.

Great achievements overall and like O said earlier. I’m thankful for the foundations he built. My favourite season under Pearson was actually League 1.

it’s because most except that there is no perfection in football. There will always be failures but one thing you can’t argue, is that Pearson was monumentally good for this football club.  In fact, he was the best thing to ever happen to us
