I'm sure he is just as hurt about the israelis who died too.  Lives are important  and precious no matter your background or what trauma is inflicted by any person or group.

People need to take back the planet from these crazy leaders in almost every country  who seek to divide us all and enrich themselves or their "cause".

We all have a lot more in common then we think.  Love, well being, food and shelter it's basic necessities we all seek and should have. Probably missing a few important things but you get my point.

I sound like some sort of idiot but i have no solutions other than love and respect for all right now.

Can't we all just get along as they say.

Sigh.

Biden spent the whole last two years cultivating a great foreign policy approach which basically bled Russia dry while avoiding escalation. He’s blown it all with this sorry affair. Just absolutely wild stuff, if he wasn’t a massive blood thirsty hypocrite you could argue Putin has a point.

I think he's made the wrong choice too, but that being said AIPAC and the other influential lobbying organisations in the US want their pound of flesh and there's a heavy price to be paid for any US president that defies them, more's the pity.

If he were coming to the end of his second term rather than his first, he might have more flexibility.

Unfortunately, 1% of the world's population is 80,000,000 people lol:crylaugh::cry::cry::cry:

It's anyone else not seeing this in the current affairs section? Has that been removed?

It has - Mark explains why in the Forum Support section.

Except a state also has the right to defend itself, and you cannot say Israel hasn’t been attacked in the most violent way.
Hamas continues to fire rockets, Israel bombs very precisely where the rockets were fired from, and civilians die because Hamas chose to deliberately fire from civilian sites.  That is on Hamas.

Every location that has been annihilated is not even close enough to the man made border for rockets to be fired from. The Israeli president himself has said that civilians are as much a target as known Hamas terrorists/locations. Even Israel are no longer saying they are aiming “precisely”. Saying this is on Hamas - fine, agreed. Saying, without facts and in face of the evidence out there that Israel is aiming “very precisely” is a bit of a reach.

Just been to the gym. Sat down to do a work out which I've saved on YouTube. The advert that preceeded the video was a number saying 'Deaths at the hands of Hamas' and the number was shooting up, accompanied by pictures of those killed by Hamas. The advert was from the Israeli government, claiming that Hamas had declared war on Israel.

To be clear, I've never watched a video about this on YouTube. I was minding my own business wanting to follow an abs and obliques workout and I got Israeli propaganda on my phone, in a gym, in Rothwell. I find that quite disturbing. Especially as I'm probably more sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians and yet I'm getting videos justifying the genocide.

It will be interesting to see how our MP’s respond to the threat of legal action for “being complicit in Gaza war crimes”. The deliberately vague way in which questions have been answered regarding the war crimes Israel are committing haven’t been properly thought out. Especially with the government sending ships to assist Israel.

I don’t know if it’s because they are still worried about the label of “anti-semites” but I’m genuinely baffled by some of the rhetoric that has come from the likes of Starmer, Thornberry and Hodge within the Labour Party. This could actually hamper Labour’s chances at the next election as the parliamentary party seems to have taken a completely different stance to the majority of its party members on this issue.

Looks like they need to improve their precision, unless Hamas are firing rockets from press vehicles, ambulances, the Egyptian/Gaza border post and the supposedly safe routes the Palestinians were advised to take to flee their homes. Again.

Surely you should be sympathetic to both Palestinian and Jewish citizens caught in the middle of this hellish crossfire? With Hezbollah poised to be mobilised from the northern border of Israel with Lebanon, the toll in terms of innocent human lives could become even bloodier.

The poster didn’t mention sympathy for the innocent civilians on both sides.Of which I’m sure they have plenty. It looks like their beef is with the pro Israel propaganda being forced upon us on YouTube. The stand by Israel adverts have been aired all week. Now we have the death toll one.

Yes. I understand about the media treatment of this, and I don't disagree. He briefly mentioned the attacks of the 7th October but not the atrocity of it. He also mentioned more sympathy for the Palestinians which is what I was questioning. The lives of both Israeli and Gazan innocent citizens matter in equal measure - as I'm sure you agree, do you? That was all.

States do have the right to defend themselves and yes, Israel was attacked by Hamas.

However, the retaliation is disproportionate IMO.

Israel have bombed VERY precisely. Precisely the vehicles and routes that people were using to flee south. It seems to have been a planned hoax by the IDF. I wonder how many Hamas fighters were killed amongst those in the evacuating convoys?

I imagine Hamas fighters, (terrorists), will still be in Gaza planning their next rocket attack. Whilst the IDF are mobilising tanks, fighter/bombers, ground troops, artillery and the USA are moving warships into place off the Gaza coast.

I'm not saying Hamas are anything other than terrorists and yes, the world would be better off without them and Hezbollah but, to warn those FAMILIES and CIVILIANS in Gaza to leave before any ground offensive and then attack those fleeing columns of people displaced by the war is an abomination and IMO makes the IDF as culpable for war crimes as Hamas.

This was helpful for a noddy like me. How good is Rory Stewart (for a Tory) btw?

He presented a documentary on Afghanistan, think it was on Amazon. Fantastic insight from someone very knowledgable on the subject.

Rory Stewart is excellent.

Take a look at his Wiki:

 Rory Stewart - Wikipedia

He's have made an excellent PM, IMO but he resigned from the Conservative cabinet after BJ became PM because he couldn't agree with a no-deal Brexit.

I feel it was more likely that he knew Johnson was a buffoon.

Must admit I've spent the last couple of days watching various Rory Stewart interviews on YT - I'm hugely impressed. Even James O'Brien from LBC seemed to respect him.

For such a mild mannered, calm, softly spoken bloke, Stewart makes no apologies for absolutely detesting Boris Johnson. I mean he really hates him and everything he stands for.

Off the subject here, but the way he talks about decentralizing government is a breath of fresh air.
