Nearly the end of 2025 and Hamza is still playing for us and our captain

Just sums up the clubs fall off a cliff

Another Rudkin jobs for the academy boys extension.

Why do people get so wound up over footballers acting human and talking to people they clearly know, not as if we've just been relegated.

I'm not that wound up by it, I just think it's indicative of the culture around the club that he didn't look at all bothered with the result (he may well have been).

But this isn't a kick around on a Sunday. These guys are paid millions of pounds to do a job and you'd like to think that they'd be pissed off that they have put in such a poor performance and ultimately failed. It's basic professional pride. My work is hardly the be all and end all in life, unlike it is for some, but I'd still be pretty gutted if I had failed in something.

Or he's just chatting to a bloke he played with almost a decade ago at Burton and perhaps hasn't seen a lot of since? Don't think it's a reflection on whether he is or isn't annoyed at the result

Unironically stick him up front, he scored as many in that game as our forward line have all season lol

Maybe the Bangladeshi fans are right. Maybe Hamza is the best player in the world.

Imagine how much of a buzz it must be to be the best player representing a country like Bangladesh (love football, massive population).

Must be absolutely surreal.

Honestly beginning to wonder if we just need to go back to a standard 4231. Traditional full backs,  hamza in the middle with James .    Stephy bdr and fats

I just really have a feeling that we just need someone with a bit more steel in the middle and hamza is that guy.  Win the ball, give it to James, that should be the assignment.  We arent paying good enough football to get away with winks. He’s a luxury player and our defence is a car crash, they need support and hamza is the only player who will add something in terms of that imo.

I agree, since Winks has come back into the starting XI over the 10 games played we have won 2 drew 5 and lost 3.

11 points from those 10 games, in isolation he can be a very good player and on paper has the quality to make us tick but it’s just not happening and I feel we need more energy, aggression and the ability to press teams more, Hamza will bring that and I think this will allow JJ more responsibility and opportunity to dictate play and for us to play with a much higher tempo as I feel Winks does tend to slow our play down.

Except Hamza is often guilty of not closing down players when defending. Playing for Bangladesh is levels below The Championship.

It wouldn’t matter. Most of our issues are self caused by the double six system. We want to play out from the back but we are too robotic with the system. It only works with James is doing the box to box role. We are playing it too deep cos of Vestergaard and we are too static in the shape.

I hadn't realised they're 8th largest population in the world.

That's such a big reach.

yes, but he was one of the best players  for waford playing cm a few seasons back, with some of the best defensive stats in the division  and was very highly rated at sheffield united last season, with the manager even saying to the press that he is better as a cm.

Its not like hes not tested at this level. We are just obsessed with using him out of position.  Id just like to see him get a run of games in that role and see how it looks, we dont have any natural ball winners left in the squad and I just cant see how it can be any worse than what were doing presently.

I would genuinely rather recall Braybrooke and see how he gets on than stick Hamza in who has shown time and again that he's not up to it.  There's no obsession with playing him out of position.  It's that he's crap in his preferred position.

There's definitely something in what you're saying in terms of you can over coach a system or players in that system. For all the good traits of Enzo, the way that style of coaching limits expression and fluidity annoys the **** out of me.

I'd really love to see some stats on how much better off teams are who invert their wing backs compared to traditional wing backs. I think at championship level that defenders would take only having one winger to deal with all day long.

Think it’s one of the most densely populated places on earth too.

I think it only works if your squad is levels above the opposition. Which simply ours isn’t anymore.  We seem to have all the negatives from it (getting caught out of position, loosing the ball in bad areas) but none of the positives because we don’t actually keep possession very well.

And it’s all irrelevant because at the end of the moves you’ll have ayew, carranza or daka, either shanking it out of play, having a heavy touch or fouling. And somehow quite often all 3 at the same time lol

I definitely believe you could get players like Ayew and yes even Daka to play at this level with a good system. If not certainly utilise the players we have coming through a lot better.

We are definitely better than this position but it's also not surprising to see us here either.
