Is Ricardo suspended he's got 5 bookings?

Ricardo, KDH and Fatawu all on 4, wouldn’t be against resting all of them for this game, as WBA is certainly our toughest game before Christmas.
The 5 bookings is only in the first 19 games, so after WBA only Vestergaard (8) is in danger of a ban.

I think I’d make changes for this, but not huge changes. 6 games in the next 3 and a half weeks, the ability to rotate players out will be key for us to keep our levels high. I would be hoping that no one plays all 6 of the games other than Mads.

Mads

Choudhury

Souttar

Coady

Justin

Winks

Ndidi

Yunus

McAteer

Vardy

Mavididi

Hopefully, get Cannon off the bench for a bit of a run around.

Let’s win this game before worrying about West Brom. I’d potentially make a couple of changes for freshness but nothing too outrageous:

Mads

Faes

Coady

JJ

Ricardo

Winks

Fatawu

Praet

KDH

Mavididi

Vardy

It is tempting that rest and rotate but the flipside is 3 points is 3 points. Neither pose any danger to us for promotion therefore, maybe place all your chips in the easier three points (sheff weds) and takes your chances v west Brom with a rotated team

That seems to be the approach he took v QPR with leeds looming, and it didn't exactly work out - a full strength XI were unconvincing in the easier game and woeful in the harder one - this time will be an even shorter turnaround, plus he has players that really need some game time so i can't see him not making some changes, even if it's just giving souttar and coady a run out.

I would go

Hermansen

Faes Coady Justin

Ricardo Winks

Fatawu Ndidi KDH Mavididi

Cannon

Id do

Hermansen

Souttar Coady Justin

Ricardo Winks

Kasey Cassadei KDH Mavididi

Nacho

These are the games Cassadei should be starting (and excelling in). Nacho has annoyed the hell out of me but think give him 55 mins to get his confidence against the worst team in the league. Then unleash the cannon when hopefully we are 2-0 up.

I'd start Kasey and bring on Fatawu as an impact just for the sheer fun of it.

Bit of rotation needed. With only one other fit full back, Ricardo in particular should put his feet up for this one.

                 Mads

       Faes Coady Justin

           Hamza Winks

 Fatawu Casadei KDH Mavididi

                 Vardy

Praet, Yunus, Cannon and Kasey to get a good run out in the second half if all goes well.

This looks like an ideal game to get Cannon some game time, maybe an hour and see how he gets on. If he doesn't play against Sheff Wed, when is he going to play ahead of Iheanacho and Vardy?

I like the thought behind this and it is well balanced. Souttar deserves another go as does Ciady. Vesty is in the best form since he has been with us and he doesn’t run around at break neck speed but if he needs a rest like Riccardo and Faes then this is the one to do it ideally we would rest Justin too but he seems up to speed now and we don’t have too many choices on that side. I wouldn’t mind cannon starting this one and see how he gets on. We should have enough firepower either way.

It makes sense to rest Vesty as he's one yellow away from a Suspension. As we'll need him more against West Brom.

So a big chance for Coady to come in and get some game time.

McATeer needs to play as he's getting back up to Match Speed and is looking better with each game since coming back from unjury.

I'd also like to see Yunus and Cannon get a run out. Yunus to get game time and Cannon to see what he can offer us.

He has to get a run out at some point. So I expect Vardy or Cannon to start and the other to come on second half.

I'm looking forward to the game and to keep our new run going.

Enzo Maresca Pre-Match Press Conference vs Sheff Wed

Any new injuries?

“No, just Callum.”

Important to have so many players available?

“Very important. We saw we had some injuries before the break, like Wilf, Yunus, Dennis. It’s very important because we have an important month of games. Chance to choose some of them.”

Rotation?

“It’s one game at a time. There are some games that for different circumstances or history, they are more or less important, but at the end they are all three points. We are focusing on tomorrow’s game, which is most important.”

Cannon?

“Tom is completely fit. He has trained for many weeks. The only problem is that he has to be patient. He is a striker and we have Jamie, Kele, and Pato. It’s complicated. Tom has to continue to work.”

Difference with Cannon?

“They are all different. Tom has full energy. He can help us off the ball a lot. His finishing is very good.”

Sheff Wed?

“Exactly the same as before QPR. It’s the perfect game for them. Beating us will solve lots of problems. QPR was difficult and it will be the same. They have changed under the new manager, they are now very aggressive and high pressing.”

New manager for Wednesday?

“With the new manager, they have played six or seven games and they have changed the shape three or four times. It’s difficult to think how they are going to play.”

Bottom club?

“Probably for us it’s the worst game for us, because for them it could be the day to start the rebuild. I already told the players it’s the worst game.”

It's probably fair to assume that Cannon won't be starting tomorrow...

Agree on probably looking at starting Coady and Cannon. Potentially even giving Mavididi a break too.

Mads

Ricardo Faes Coady Justin

Winks KDH Ndidi

Fatawu Cannon Akgun

Patson's got no hope of getting a game when the manager doesn't know his name.

...Maresca does tend to make players informal when he references them!!!

Nacho is always "Kel" so "Pato" is very much the norm in regards to his players.

Well he should shortly be "overtaking" Iheanacho as he seems completely to have lost interest and sharpness
