cruzFOX Posted 9 January 2024 Posted 9 January 2024 Interesting Liverpool’s choice of hull. so they must have considered Leicester but don’t want to help us strengthen - why? Do they see us as a future threat/rival? or maybe felt their kid won’t get max game time in our team of strong performers. Maybe it was a bit of both.

It’s partly to do with game time but it’s also to do with potentially unsettling the lad if he comes here or soton and has a storming spell and gets promotion - he may want to come back next season and Liverpool want him there. He won’t get the same game time at Anfield as we would here or soton and klopp won’t want a player unhappy sitting on the bench most weeks (or not in the squad)
JimJams Posted 9 January 2024 Posted 9 January 2024 The transfer to Hull just looks to me like a shop window exercise. I can't see the point from their perspective to loan him at a level he has already proved himself at. What do they gain from that? But having him perform and reignite interest might get them some offers in the summer. The whole "We want him for next season" is just bullshit offered up to not drive the price down due to them wanting rid. They'll want to make it look like they'd be reluctant to sell, but ok, but only if you offer £XXXmillion. Cos you know, we really want him. Honest. 1 1
TheGoldenGod Posted 10 January 2024 Posted 10 January 2024 It's telling why he's gone to Hull. They'll be guarantees that he plays every single game! If us, Saints and Leeds were all interested, Liverpool would have known he was just a squad option. I'd argue Chelsea wouldn't have thought Casadei would just be rotation for us tbf.
dannythefox Posted 10 January 2024 Posted 10 January 2024 No chance he goes there if we wanted him. He’d get loads of game time here.

Finnegan Posted 10 January 2024 Posted 10 January 2024 Decent outcome for us that. Don't think he was ever coming here given game time was a problem for Liverpool and we just don't need him as a starter. But keeps him away from our rivals which is nice.

Hull are Cup rivals (possibly).
