coolhandfox Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Honestly don't think we were ever really in for him. I just don't think we are in a position where we need a short term fix. 3
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 12 Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Could we guarantee Liverpool the appearances they probably demand? Given that Fatuwu is now staying here. 1
moore_94 Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Would have been very useful for the squad but if we did want him I expect we just wouldn’t have been able to offer the game time that he / Liverpool would want 3
StriderHiryu Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Great pickup for Hull! Between him and Philogene, they have a serious attack.
Happy Fox Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Hull move ahead in race to sign Carvalho Exclusive from Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas: Hull appear to have moved ahead in the race to sign Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho on loan. Liam Rosenoir’s side are understood to have made a strong move to sign the 21-year-old and give him a regular starting place. Carvalho is understood to be enthusiastic about helping Hull cement a play-off place and push for promotion from the Championship. There is nothing official yet but a move could progress quickly this week in the hope Carvalho is registered in time for Hull's next game against Norwich on Friday, live on Sky Sports. Leicester have also been very interested in the attacking midfielder, who was recalled from RB Leipzig earlier this month, but they need to move a player on to make space in their squad. Southampton are another club who have been trying to sign the former Fulham player but they are less able to assure him a regular starting spot. Liverpool want Carvalho playing regularly for a side competitive in their league, after he struggled for games in the Bundesliga. He has had other clubs in Germany such as Stuttgart keen on him, as well as Sevilla from LaLiga. Frustrating, shall we blame Rudkin?
The Bear Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 If Liverpool are demanding certain starts/gametime then more fool Hull. He was never going to get those guarantees at Wolves or Leicester. Championship is his level still I reckon. Hasn't looked that decent in the Prem or the Bundesliga. At Fulham he played a free role behind Mitrovic, a role he certainly wouldn't be given to play at Wolves. 3

Really wouldn't sweat this one, we don't need him, sure a nice to have but as has been stated we need to move people on first and fill other areas of need. 4
Bryn Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 They may also not want him to come here if they see him as a long term squad player as it's more likely he would settle here and that we get promoted.
The Bear Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Liverpool are just looking to maximise his transfer fee. Hence wanting guarantees he'll start. If he has a good season and knocks a few in then they'll have clubs bidding for him.
Dan Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Hull have got a quite decent side together. Fair play.
MPH Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 I feel like we were in for him to cover for Fatawu going to AFCON but he didn’t get selected so we didn’t need him..
Ric Flair Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Hopefully help them take points off Southampton, Ipswich and Leeds. 1
lcfc_forever Posted 8 January 2024 Posted 8 January 2024 Sounds like SSN were talking rubbish as with Iversen out on loan, we do have space in the squad. Maybe we decided not to go strong for him given we only would have the player for six months, and we've already got Casadei on loan in the same position?
