Here are a few other City strikers who didn't improve while playing with Vardy:

Harry Kane - record England goalscorer.

Chris Wood - veteran PL striker, likely to be in the Champions League next year. 😟

Andrej Kramaric - World Cup finalist.

Islam Slimani - AFCON winner.

Ayoze Pérez - Euro24 winner.

It needed a strong character to knock him off his perch, which Daka wasn't (and isn't). However he was somewhat undermined by a pledge made by Rodgers to keep Vardy at the club as long as he (Rodgers) was here.

Daka is a modern-day version of Mark Bright from the 1980s - vilified by fans here (and not just for football reasons), but very capable of rebuilding his career at a decent level elsewhere.

I meant RVN our so called coach/ manager.

I admire your optimism, but I think it probably is verging on delusion. He may have a career of sorts in less physical leagues, but he will never make it in England

He's a reasonable striker when confident and would be a perfectly serviceable championship striker. He's just got mentality issues holding him back, much like Iheanacho (who was only good when there were no crowds watching)

We've seen zero evidence of that in the last 3 years. When he came back from AfCon last season he was on a high and looked totally out of his depth. The misses at Leeds and Plymouth were beyond awful. I mean if you're not doing it at a top of the table game against Leeds OR against flops like Argyle where are you doing it?

If he hangs around another 18 months he may get to play in front of no crowds anyway as the last KPFC supporters finally lose their faith.

You mention all of those players as if they were the Messi-esque centre of their team's victory.

Most of them didn't play WITH Vardy for a start, the formations were different, Vardy sometimes pushed wide or they came on as a sub for him or we were just playing one up top. Vardy just doesn't do well in a pairing, the best foils for him were Nugent and Okazaki playing behind him. In the case of Kane, Wood and Slimani (throw in Ulloa too if you like) he just doesn't play well round a big man, anticipating flick ons or running off a guy holding the ball up. The Kramaric story has been done to death. Wrong player wrong time, didn't take his limited chances never fitted our set up. Ranieri did the cruel to be kind thing and binned him off early.

No, he came back and looked fine until Leeds, where he had a perfectly good goal disallowed and then missed a great chance moments later, which just crushed him. So, again with emphasis.

I thought he was our best attacker first half which of course meant he had to he taken off as he might have actually made us a bit more dangerous

Absolute wank.

Today's hightlight was when he missed the ball and almost slotted big dan burn into the back of the net instead.

I liked when someone put the ball across and he missed the ball and just shot fresh air. Any connection and it was on target. He does that at least once a game. So weak he gets knocked off the ball by any defender. Then spends more time on the ground. Shit player, has been since he’s been here.

A truly dog shit footballer. Learn Turkish buddy.

But he was really good all those years ago in the Brentford away win, and we had a good day out.

Monga is stronger than him physically at 15

That said at least he made a couple of decent forward runs which was more than usual. I think his effort on goal would have been ruled offside

No words for how this move has worked out or more to the point hasn’t, had moments especially the game against Spartak where you could see why he was one of the brightest young talents when we signed him but the only thing that has really benefitted out of this move is Patson’s bank balance.

What possesses Ruud to play one of our least technically gifted players in a role just behind the striker when normally you want creative players with skill and guile to help unlock defences, defies logic, apart from one run, on the whole he looked so out of his depth it was untrue.

Truth is we signed him to take over from Vardy, 4 seasons later Vardy is still here and starting every game whilst Daka has stagnated, lost all confidence and now plays like someone who has won a competition to be a pro footballer for a day.

Yes, completely agree, we started off with Musa to replace Vardy, that didn't work but IMO he was better than Daka. Daka is a championship player at best, limited skill, poor touch, unable to take a player on and beat him, no tactical sense. I have no idea why we bought him.

The fact that we've never replaced Vardy at 38 is a travesty.

We were much more threatening with him on the pitch than Vardy

Daka is probably the worst footballer I think we have in the squad. We just happened to change shape when he came on.
