Now this is a good challenge. Have we had a player lazier than Soumare, or Beckford for that matter. Hard... maybe Gareth Williams (urgh) would run them close. (Metaphorically obviously, as he never ran)

Yakubu was incredibly lazy as well.

You can be lazy (Le Tissier was super lazy as a player) but if you have the talent you can sometimes get away with it. Soumaré doesn't have the talent, he's lazy, he doesn't have a footballing brain, he's a non personality (seemingly) but he obviously has something that all these managers see and the only thing feasible to me is a couple of envelopes containing a wad of something.....

I wouldn't even say he doesn't have the talent. We see very infrequently that he does have the physicality and ability to be a reasonable player but he doesn't apply it at all. There's lazy players as in those who don't really do anything outside of their one role (the old fashioned poacher forward) and then there's lazy like this bloke. He's either the most boneidle person in existence or his two braincells are competing for third place with the way he's never in a position to use his physicality or technical ability

I wouldn't really call it lazy, I would say its just more a lack of football intelligence.

Actually thought he was ok at moving the ball around on Saturday, I mean obviously offers nothing penetrating or creatively but he at least shown for the ball.

We must have some of the worst players in the history of the game when facing their own goal and running backwards. Soumare, Vestergaard, Justin, Choudhury are awful when they are turned.

Someone needs to teach him how to drive with the ball, switch on and get stuck in.

Just doesn’t have enough to be good in England

Probably and yet the previous comment still holds some value!

Sign of the times and the level we are now at.

He wasn't the worst. Which is progress.

Still lacks awareness on and off the ball and I dot think that'll ever change.

Doesn't help having gormless and useless Skipp next to him.

Fair enough but not how I saw it personally.

Midfield completely bypassed throughout & thought Soumare was incredibly sluggish to move the ball forward.

His brain and body do not do anything quickly. Today he strode out of defence with the ball. He did not look up or pass. He is a big unit but he just seems in a world of his own.

Better performance.

It was him that broke their press with a great "third man run" and then drove forward with the ball to create the 1on1 opportunity for Fatawu which got us the winning goal.
