IF we get to the final against Liverpool or Man city and lose would we get into Europe ?

No, the place would go to the premier league based on league finish. 5th-7th then becomes european qualifying, with 7th being Conference League.

Is there an international break after the quarter final?

Yes, so we can potentially go strong at Chelsea

We get 3 wins in a row before it  I think we will go full strength

It's not a distraction.  Our focus must remain on promotion  but the FA Cup is giving players opportunity for game time that they otherwise wouldn't have had.

IMO Enzo has this right.  I expect the side against Chelsea to be much like the starting line up against Bournemouth.

No i expect full strength for this one.

Winning in any competition can never be a distraction. Genuine joy of the players in winning away at a good mid table PL team. It’s why last seasons squad was so poor, they lacked that basic professional drive to be the best they can be and compete. Most professional people are driven to win and hate losing. An fa cup run. Chelsea away, potential Wembley semi etc. can only inspire/motivate the team to want to do that sort of thing on a weekly basis.

3 games from an FA Cup win for only the 2nd time in our history?

Do we think the league has now become a distraction?

As a Championship side as well. When was the last time that happened?

Massive chance to make history

Surely the question should be 'is football a distraction?'. If we can convince the EFL to abandon all remaining games then we will can be promoted without having to play all these pesky games against teams who dont want to play us anyway.

The best thing it has done (hopefully) has shown Enzo he can use more of the squad in league games, i'd actually like to see a similar line up to Bournemouth against Sunderland next week.

Similarly Enzo needs to decide which of the Bristol City or Norwich games to give to the first XI

Not that i'm getting carried away but Enzo Fernandez is suspended for our game against Chelsea now. He's their most important player IMO.

If Chelsea take they eye off the ball then we can beat them.

It should increase Enzo's confidence in using the squad to see out games, we are so much more effective with fresh players able to maintain the same intensity.

Let's go smash the next 12-15 games.

And Tuesday night showed they can man up, Coady played well & they looked good as a pair against a Premier League side.  Is now the time for him to start a game again with Jannik?

Marcal had a great game and really grew into it and will have the confidence after a poor first half & game against Birmingham, looks ready as Mcateer is going backwards.

Yunus looked passionate and really up for it.

Choudhury has just had 2 very good performances back to back

Plus the returning Winks, KDH,  Stephy, Wout, Mads

Only players off colour are Doyle & Cannon.

Champions & Wembley, c'mon!!!

Feel some people have such short memories, winning the FA Cup is one of the best feelings of my life, we are 3 games away from replicating that

Also our likely entire starting 11 for QPR got the game off anyway, so it's not like they are going to be tired from it

All it does is boost confidence amongst fans and in the dressing room, winning breeds more winning

Points in the bag, Bristol Or just spread them across the 2 games, 5 subs when all said and done.

No. Never.

Also ironic post from the same poster that takes the piss out of Spurs not winning anything for years.

You would hope so and then by the semi final We’ll have promotion wrapped up so no distraction 😂

Once you get to the FA Cup quarters you’ve got to go for it.  With the number of midweek matches, Enzo is going to have to rotate players more than he likes … but balancing the league and cup, not favoring the former.

It is more of a distraction for us than for Chelsea though.  We are playing for a league title and promotion.  The Cup is all they’ve got to play for.  Their only route into Europe in a lower-midtable season.

Poch will start their best against us and rotate in the league.  10th or 12th place, who cares?

May have been asked but if we win it do we get into Europe?

I do think the OP has a bit of a point, given that getting promoted would have a far bigger impact in securing our longer term future than winning the FA Cup would.

However, they're not mutually exclusive and, despite how unlikely an FA Cup win is this season, given the timing of the next round and the two week gap after I can see us playing a much stronger team than we did against Bournemouth. I think the game we are likely to see most changes from the "usual" team is Sunderland (A) but the squad players should have enough to win there.

We have 3 league games before the next round. If there is the chance for us to be overtaken in the league on that weekend then it won't be because of any FA Cup distraction, just our own inability to put away games (granted, we've been good at this throughout most of the season).
