Stop the LCFC Loyalty Tax - UFS statement

I find the whole scenario disgraceful by the club. It is all about the extra revenue they can generate from the fans. If you go digital there is no way you can share your ticket. Unfortunately I live over 2 hours away now, and it is impossible to make mid week games with zero chance of giving the ticket to family members who live in locally… f***ing farce!

Thank you UFS for providing a rallying point for understandably outraged LCFC fans with this profound and perfectly-worded statement that the Club - yes, even this Club and the bunch of misguided corporate numbskulls who run it  - simply cannot ignore.

 

That £25 'loyalty tax' - or extortion, call it what you will - must never be allowed to come to pass.

if theyd even been smart enough to just say my season ticket was £25 more or whatever i wouldnt have thought about it - but doing it this way is a slap in the face, if you're gonna fool me do it quietly.

The email format for anyone at the club is just [email protected] , it's only a few very senior people with admins to sift their incoming emails. 

 

Then there's shared mailboxes like the [email protected] one that goes to the supporter engagement type people.

They're not trying to fool you. It's plain as day - if you want this then you can pay over the odds for it. 

 

The supporters dared to voice a preference and the club have treated them with complete disdain and contempt in order to make them regret that choice.

 

I've always tried to be objective and understand that my club must occupy a dual position as a community asset but also a business needing to be run. Just recently, however, it's been very difficult to see the community asset element of this. The club actively dislike the match-going fans. They want all the kudos of running the club well seemingly without any of the dissenting voices. It's like they occupy an odd space whereby they're wanting use to have the support profile of, say, Chelsea and not acknowledging that we're Leicester. 

 

We aren't a tourist attraction. The supporter base will be 95% from Leicester.

A football club should be a pillar of the community. Doing everything they can to make football accessible for anyone, regardless of their financial situation. The £25 is a slap in the face for many, and it is all about control based. 

 

I'd personally like to see some justification on this from the club. Where is the evidence regarding eco-friendly? Even the National Trust/English Heritage now use cards that are paper based and they use a QR code on them. If they wanted to go this way then they could if it was about being eco-friendly. 

 

It's all to track who is inside the ground and that people are not giving tickets to others.

As many people have said though, if you don't apply for the card, the win and more people are pushed to digital, if you do buy it they get £25.  Got the fans by the short and curleys again as usual.

Our club don't deserve the support it gets.

 

Millwall away sell out 3 days later sell out at plymouth. So to days holiday for a slap in the face performances.

 

Then just as you are getting over it you get a knee to the bollox. 

 

Well if they end up with empty stands they won't have to worry about fans vocally supporting the team or standing.

 

Total disgrace.

There definitely is easy ways to transfer tickets digitally. Even easier than paper tbh

I’d understand if they charged you £25 for a replacement card but to charge us for  the actual card is a piss take and what a time to do it too.

Great statement lads, really hit the nail on the head. 

 

 

Only issue for me is the fact the foxes trust seem to be getting shit for their statement that uses less emotive language and is more political. 

Both statements go at the club for trying to rip fans off, why can't we get behind both rather than using one fan group to hit at another
