She hasn't worked for king power for a long time.

Guess she’s winding down? / doesn’t want the travel any more

and the way you increase  the amount of those interested?   ( we also have to factor in the open air stadium and the weather, of course)

Such is the fickle nature of the celebrity culture, you see your favorite influencer supporting a team, you are likely to as well..

I mean, our owners have an attachment to Thailand. There’s no avoiding that. And they are going to try and increase their fan base there.

They've tried and failed for the past decade, despite all the success we've had.

Focus on local kids and families, who, if we're being properly business-minded, are going to give you long-term repeat custom whatever happens on the pitch. Basing your strategy of brand-building solely around capitalising on occasional success is really fvcking stupid for a club like ours.

We are never going to be a global club and that is fine. We have enough support locally, from exiles and their families, from ex-pats etc.

If we want glamour friendlies, go elsewhere or attract them to our place.

A lot of the stuff the owners have done is distasteful to me...

Stripping all the murals of the old players down and now, outside, we just have pictures of a previous owner.

We achieved one of the best stories in football history (I typed in football underdog in google & it came back with football underdog stories and a picture of us lifting the Premier League) and yet no statues of any players, but we do have a statue of a previous owner.

The vanity tours to Thailand, the parading with trophies, the hangers ons etc.

The mismanagement of the club's finances over the last 3-4 years.

But it is their club. They bought it. They can do what they like with it (within reason). Its not for me to tell them how to spend their money. I can grumble about it, but any anger, outrage or sense on entitlement is a waste of emotion.

It might not be "my club" anymore. But it never was - think back to the days of plane banners asking the owners to leave. I was just a supporter then, and I still am now, so I'm going to stick to that! Up the City!

Won the league, yeah but lost too many games.

Victory brigade, yeah but there were loads of tourists.

What do people actually want and expect?

True. We can moan and be outraged and what we see, but this is the key bit, anything above does not need a response as there cannot be that will be satisfactory for people or perhaps more controversially, not one anyone is entitled too. (Excludes shareholders)

Was just the same then. It’s always been a vanity/sports washing/look good to the state project.

Yes—this.

I don’t think the circus from Saturday and Sunday is about using the Thai social media influencers to sell more shirts or even to sell tickets for preseason friendlies and stuff which a lot of folks are suggesting here.

It’s to make King Power look good to the Thai government and their related business community so that King Power retains its charter and monopoly. Also, when things go bad for King Power/LCFC, they need the Thai gov’t to back them (see: “Thailand Smiles With You”).

I’d imagine part of the massive Thai contingent was Top trying to look cool, and another part of it was trying to show Thai leaders and moguls (the ones that have access to the real money) what he thinks they wanted to see after relegation.

Whether we have to like any of that or whether Top is doing a good job with this are two other questions, and I’ll just let my silence on these answers speak for itself 😂.

It’s not hard to get it right. Nobody was complaining in 13/14 because it was done as it should be.

Or perhaps we just had lower expectations……

Nah. People rightly criticised the 15/16 self-indulgence too. King Bhumhole or whatever being paraded around the pitch also had zilch to do with the players and the management.

Maybe it’s the new normal but this has been the weirdest and limpest promotion celebration I have experienced.

Ipswich showed how it should be done with raw emotion and a sense of community.

15/16 had way less hangers on than Saturday

I guess the Premier League probably has restrictions on that kind of thing though

It’s their first promotion in 24 years though where as we got relegated in needless circumstances

It gets to me because it highlights everything wrong with Tops priorities in regards to the club. I knew he’d be down there straight away to get his hands in that trophy he’s done nothing to earn.

Instead of actually running the club he owns (or paying someone to run it properly for him) he neglects us, leaves us with his little lap dog running the football side of things and flashes us around his mates and his country where no one actually cares about us. He has no interest in the actual football or us fans. Leicester city football club is basically an expensive suit or a car he can show off to his equally rich friends.

I’ve disliked him ever since his negligence relegated us and his immediate reaction was to parade the squad around Thailand in some kind of North Korea style propaganda trip where he had “fans” (definitely not paid actors) screaming and crying at meeting footballing elites such as… Hamza Choudhury.

He just needs to do one.

I don't know how people can say this with such certainty having never even met the bloke.

It’s a good point but we have had promotions straight back up in the past that I am comparing it to.

The annoying thing for me is these buses would’ve cost a bomb…. With our current financial plight, what a waste of money for two buses full of people that us as fans have zero connection with.

The cost of the buses is nothing compared to accommodation flights and lost ticket revenue. Did they even pay for the merchandise.

More than likely been a free trip for them all.

I also doubt the club gets a penny for merchandise sold by KP. As they sponsor our shirts, ground and training ground I bet they keep all monies taken by KP at home.

He owns the club.  :dunno: There really is no come back from that unfortunately.

Saw him as well and assumed because of his gear he was an academy player 😂. Who is he?

No idea who he is but he, and another of similar age and dressed similarly, came over to P block Just before Top and his massive entourage came that direction and tried to get what looked like their GF's out of the stand and over the hoardings onto the pitch with them.

The main security steward was having none of it and seemed to be telling them that they were under strict instructions that no-one was allowed other than those with permission who came thro the tunnel.

They looked gutted and kept trying to persuade the steward but it was never gonna happen.
