For the short term goal of purely remaining in the premier league to stablise it would have to be moyes for me.

Its a no brainer, but can see something stupid like going for Russell or something for the football ideology.

Also I think its harsh to put Moyes in to a just survival category.

Quote

Moyes established the Toffees in the top seven of the Premier League from 2006/07 onwards and led the side to UEFA Europa League qualification on three occasions.

The Scot, who has won 10 Premier League Manager of the Month awards, took over the Hammers with the club in the bottom three, but guided them to 13th place by the end of the 2017/18 season.

But in December 2019 the Scot returned and secured West Ham's Premier League status that season before enjoying superb campaigns in 2020/21 and 2021/22 as the club finished in sixth and seventh respectively.

Won a trophy last season as well.

What about this guy? Filipe Celikkaya. Worked under Amorim at Sporting. Was in charge of their B side where he helped develop Fatawu. Now wants to be a no.1. Probably be dirt cheap too.

If we bag a decent compo figure for Enzo and he does move on, I think we will move for a manager who is currently out of work or with a fairly minimal release clause.

I think if there is any modicum of truth in the Chelsea interest then it is likely to resolve its self pretty quickly, which would likely tie in with the conclusion of the play off final where it has already been reported that Martin is for the tin tack if Saints don’t go up, making him readily available to take the job that he has previously been touted for and maintaining the style of play the owner and DoF appear to crave as a pre-requisite.

If Saints win then I can see us floundering around in the vain hope Potter accepts our call.

Could make some cash for the club on matchdays. Giving rides around the stadium in the fire engine.

If we end up with Russell Martin I’ll be invoicing the club for my resulting therapy

An even shitter version of Brendan Rodgers. I'd seriously lose all interest

Hopefully our dominant results against them last season make this very unlikely

Moyes as uninspiring as it may be, would be a steady choice. But I know a lot of people scoff at the idea, but Potter would be top of my list. I think he is equally as safe a pair of hands as Moyes, and I think would match what the board want in terms of a style of play.

Interesting.

It's always a risk picking a manager with very little 1st team experience but it can be done!

What we do know is our owners are obsessed with possession football, I just don't see them compromising on thst after following on from Ranieri with Shakespeare. Top's even more blinkered, look at the comments Enzo said on their 1st meeting to become manager.

We’re getting Oscar Garcia and that’s it. I find it funny some of the names people are suggesting, because whilst they’re great suggestions, there is no way those conducting the recruitment process would even know their names.

Sounds like you want some kind of Reform at the club...

We are run by idiots Top to bottom (Rudkin - because he’s an arse).  There is no real footballing knowledge in our Hierarchy.  This possession football at all costs is old now.

Our best performances at the end of the season came from less possession and more direct thrust. Possession football only works if you have significantly better players than the opposition. We don’t and we won’t. Sometimes you have to be pragmatic. Moyes would do a job. Potter unlikely to come. Enzo would likely be sacked by Christmas - Chelsea is a no brainer for him if it is offered.
