Doesn't matter who the gaffer is, it's gunna be a difficult season. Just want to be as prepared as we can be.

Definitely this. Just need to move forward now

Judging Cooper's historical track record on the basis of two thirds of one season in the Premier League with a Club hardly likely to pull up any trees is a bit daft to be honest.

haha, get it, because it’s Forest, haha

I wholeheartedly agree that we need to get on with it and be as prepared as we can be. However, I don't agree that it 'doesn't matter 'who the manager is. I think it matters a lot.

My only gripe is it should have been done and sorted a couple of weeks ago rather than fawning over Potter who clearly was never that keen

Mine is we shouldn't touch Cooper with a barge pole.

Well yes, it would be great to have a 'better' manager, but we are where we are, clearly nobody wants the job, so just appoint and move on. We aren;t getting any top managers any time soon, we all need a reality check.

Do you know that Corberan doesn't want the job?

My guess is that with the club needing to keep costs down, they're trying to get someone who's unemployed.

His promotion team wasn’t negative or risk average. 3rd top scorers and 2nd best defense from where he took over is outstanding.

People forget the shit hand he was dealt in terms of losing so many players from the promotion team and then the total mess of a transfer strategy.

Everyone on here had them down as a dead man walking upon promotion. So to keep them up way way above expectations.

He’s always preached wanting to play good football, but I don’t think he’s one of them like Maresca who wants to force it no matter what, from his comments he’ll do what he needs to first to get to that position.

If it’s him, I have no idea how it will go. We’ve been surprised many times and I hope we will again. I certainly don’t get the total distain on here for him, I think it’s well over the top.

I'm just pointing out what fans have said about him.

I also pointed out he's known for being tactically flexible - i'm sure he'll be asked to play attacking possession based football with us and see no reason why he can't carry it out.

Overall optimistic and very aware of the fact he worked for a lunatic at his previous job.

When the full story of this appointment is fully told it will shock folks

The Incompetence displayed by some at the club is truly unbelievable for a 100’s of millions business

one man’s desperate bid to keep power, one man’s desperate bid to play in a certain way and finally one man who was very resolute and very clear on his terms and stuck to these right to the end

cooper is NO mug, astute and sharp, he played his cards properly and he played to win

he wanted the job but he wanted the job on his terms in his space with the ability to fall on his own sword

Im flabbergasted at how Ruskin has managed to sneak into and maintain his power at this club

out future was decided during a boost session at ascot … let that sink in !

mods will probably not publish this, and that’s fine cos I do talk a lot of nonsense,

but on this appointment I have known virtually every twist and turn and have shared as such

but I stress it’s still not 100% signed

power to some people at this club is more important than the future of the club

if Steve Signs the contract we owe it to him and ourselves to get behind him and give him everything we got !

together we can stay up, divided we get relegated

Can I say as well that if things were this transparent, we’d all be looking at this very differently? Come out and say that things are shit and we need everyone pulling in the same direction, not this face saving bullshit that it’s about ‘vision’ and ‘growth’.

Dare I say that if the fans were afforded proper communication, we could create a real backs against the wall mentality and might have a chance this year.

Any danger @RYM

It has been reported (by the same journalists reporting that it's Cooper) that the club would go for Corberan if the deal with Cooper fell through, which would imply the compensation is not that much of a stumbling block. If we're appointing Steve Cooper because Corberan would cost us a measly £4m (which is nothing), then God help us.

If they had kept the team they came up with they would have probably finished bottom of the league, they spent 165m that's the reason they stayed up in the main and the reason clubs like Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd went straight back down.

They only stayed up because Everton and Leiester capitulated.

Of course Forest fans will love him, they spent 20 years in the Championship

This is essentially like saying we only won the title because everyone else was crap

Who cares, they stayed up, all that matters

Everton or Leicester had much better squads though so should have finished above them

Can I respectfully point out that Rudkin has never failed to achieve what the majority of FT members thought he would achieve.  So relax and enjoy the ride….
